October 17th, 2023 - 4 Night Halloween on the High Seas Cruise from New York (Canada)

Looking for gold or higher folks who are paid in full on this cruise - can you tell me if there is a whale watching excursion for this sailing and if so, is it completely booked? DH and I are considering this cruise and would like to try this excursion, but since it's so late in the season, we're unsure whether it will be offered. Thanks!

Sorry to say there was a whale watching excursion but it is sold out.

Hi ArielRae - Frequent DCL'er here but first time out of NYC. Family and I are coming from NJ too, and excited to try a a new DCL cruise out of NYC rather than Port Canaveral. We just booked this last minute (last night LOL), for our kids' respective 10th and 7th birthdays. Any tips on parking at the NYC Cruise terminals? As in, do we know what Pier the Dream will be docked at, and the closest Parking Lot at the terminal. I know its $180 with the reservations, just didn't know how the porter system works in NYC. Any help would be appreciated!

Be sure to check the first few posting to find a lot of helpful information. I have no personal experience parking at port. We park over in NJ and take the ferry over, then walk over to the ship. We drop off our luggage with the porters on the ground floor and then go up to the second floor. We find it less stressful than driving in NYC. The ship typically docks at pier 88.

From what others have posted from past sailings. You can drop your luggage off with the porters right in front and then drive around up the ramp to park right next to the ship. I am guessing it would be easier to just park and bring luggage down to porters If you don’t want to drive back around to park after dropping off luggage. If you are early you line up outside on the second level.

Looking down from ship to the parking.

Lined up outside waiting for 11:30am cruisers to be called. You can get some nice photos in front of the ship here.

Even though we are still a ways away I was curious what the possible weather forecast would be during our cruise to see how heavy of a jacket to bring. Found this from the Weather Channel.

Just checked to see how many staterooms are still available on our sailing and there is still a whole lot of them left. The connecting stateroom next to ours is still available and it is usually one that gets snaches up quick as it is a double wide Oceanview stateroom.

I just learned of this website. You can see photos and YouTube videos of your stateroom and areas around the ship.

Appointment Time Based Pre-Booking of Spa Treatments Beginning with Early October Voyages

Recently a change was made to the way Disney Cruise Line handles onboard spa pre-bookings. Rather than booking a specific treatment, guest can now reserve an actual appointment time on a given date pending availability. This pre-booking change is effective for sailings beginning October 2, 2023, and beyond.

Disney Cruise Line guests will now book an appointment time slot, rather than a specific treatment, for many of our spa and salon offerings. Guests can pre-reserve an appointment time based on a time block for a general treatment type, with the specific treatment selected at the time of service.

While many treatment options are moving to appointment-based bookings, some treatments will continue to be booked on an individual basis. Offerings may vary by ship.

Hi all - my wife and i just booked this cruise - it will be our first on Disney! We are seasoned Royal Caribbean cruisers but decided to get our feet wet with DCL for this 4 nighter out of NYC. I appreciate the discussion here, as I've already learned a lot! I'm excited to see how magical a Disney cruise can be.

I'm usually the one checking the forums and making sure everything is planned out and ready to go. I'm a bit antsy knowing that we can't book anything or check-in for 3 more days haha. I hope to still score a decent arrival time since I like to be on board as early as possible - day 1 is important, especially on a shorter cruise! :P

Can't wait to board and set sail with you fine folks!
