That's my point. In general, families with younger kids probably aren't (repeat) cruising with DCL with the same frequency that they did, say 10+ years ago.

But it takes a while to get to Platinum status. I don't think you can say that families with younger kids aren't repeating with the same frequency based on the bookings from current Platinum CC members. I didn't start taking DCL cruises until DD was 11 years old. She's 14 now and I've been on 5 DCL cruises with numbers 6 and 7 booked. I am waiting to hear back from my TA on #8. Even with that pretty quick pace of racking up cruises, DD will likely be 18 before we reach Platinum status. At that point, with the way you are looking at the data, you'd say families aren't taking repeat cruises with the same frequency. But we are taking repeat cruises with the same frequency. The kid just grew up.

You should add him NOW and remove him if he can't go. If you wait to add him, you will have to pay the going rate at that time. It's better to add and then remove, then add later. Plus passenger capacity could limit him being added in the end.

Don't be surprised, though, if many of the initial cruises for the the new ships are blacked out from OBB discounts.

Oh I won't be. I'm just hoping that in the time frame I'm looking to go, end of summer of 2021 (teacher, no real other choice), they'll be letting you use them. If not, oh well. Next summer's cruise on the Fantasy FINALLY bumps me to platinum status which will get me hopefully the best price!

You have to transfer to Costco within 30 days of booking the placeholder. If you booked that placeholder less than 30 days ago, then yes, you can still transfer. If it's been more than 30 days, then you are out of luck this time.

Gold Magic 8/25 Norwegian Fjords 9B for 2A (although he is age 15) $4727.34 total [2240,2240] fees $220 and tax 123.67. No ins/trans/air/OBB.

I had a placeholder but it had to be used by July 8,2018 so missed out on the discount.

This is the one I want to take so badly. Or the British isles depending on what is affordable. All in all that price isn't horrible but it's still a lot. I'll have to see what two adjoining balcony rooms are for 4 adults. On celebrity it's about $10,000.

I was on hold for about 1.5 hour but got the pricing below. We ended up booking three staterooms on the 10 night northern Europe on August 8th! Still have no idea how we will pay for it but it will be a year with a lot to celebrate so this family reunion will happen somehow...
