I never planned for this to be so long but as you start writing you remember so many great things! Let's see where was I before the kids wanted dinner. Oh yeah, What We Did:
DAY 2 (Sunday) MK - This day was pure magic for the kids. They were in awe walking down Main Street towards the castle. We had breakfast at Cindy's (yes, I was one of those crazy people calling at 7:00 am every morning). The food was great but I felt very rushed during this meal. The tables were also very close together so it was difficult to get out to take pictures. This is the only place we found the princesses all week. They really did not spend much time with the kids - autograph, picture and a few words. My DD (5) did love this meal. We used Fastpass whenever possible which worked out great. The parade was wonderful except for the rude adults who stepped in front of my sitting children. The only down side to this day was that we had no plan for lunch or dinner. By afternoon the kids were tired and hungry and we should have planned a rest period.
DAY 3 (Monday) MGM - This was the only park I really didn't care for. I thought the layout was very confusing and every road seemed to be a dead end. We did enjoy Little Mermaid, Bear in the Big Blue House, Muppet 3D, and the Mulan Parade. DS (7) and I loved Star Tours, RnRC, and ToT (I was a little disappointed in Tot - didn't think the drops were that bad). Our best meal was lunch at Hollywood & Vine. The food was great, the characters were great (Goofy has our youngest howling with laughter) and we were told to take our time, relax and enjoy. Beauty and the Beast was very good but we did not do Fantasmic since DD and DS (4) do not like fireworks or villians. Instead we got an unexpected preview of the Osborne Lights when we took the Backlot Tour - definately worth a trip in Dec.
DAY 4 (Tuesday) Shopping & Epcot - By now we needed a break so since it was raining we decided to check out the outlets and Downtown Disney (the only time we touched our car). The outlets are o.k. but you can't always find what you want. We did better with our American Express discount at Downtown Disney and the kids loved Lego Land. One word of advice if you drive around Disney, take a map. The place is so large that even with DH's superior navigational ability we got lost! By late afternoon the sun came out and we decided to do what we swore we wouldn't - go to a park for half a day (seems like a waste of money). At Epcot we did Spaceship Earth, The Living Seas, dinner in The Land Food Court, TON, and Illuminations.
DAY 5 (Wednesday) Epcot - First stop was breakfast at Crystal Palace in MK. What a wonderful place to eat! Great food, wonderful characters. At Epcot we went to Innoventions, Universe of Energy (this was not fun with our 4 year old after Countdown), and Body Wars. Unfortunately, my DS (7) and I who both have iron stomachs came down with a severe case of motion sickness on this ride which sent us to First Aid. The people there are the best - don't ever hesitate to use them if needed. I was disappointed in Body Wars - thought it was very jerky and the movie portion was a waste of time. After our recovery, we decided to leave Test Track for another day and visited some of World Showcase. In the afternoon I had scheduled the Ice Cream Social at the Garden Grill. I thought we would be making our own sundaes - wrong. First, they only had vanilla ice cream (boy, was I in the dog house for this). Then you had no say as to what was put on it. I thought DH would have a fit when the $36.00 bill arrived for 5 ice creams. The characters were good once we told our server that Mickey had not been to see us - soon everyone was sitting at our table. Spent the rest of the day at The Land and in World Showcase at a slower pace.
