Our 4 night 5 day trip, staying at the Disneys Grand Californian in a three bedroom Grand Villa. Sunday through Thursday.
Since our check in is on Sunday the one thing that is known to all those who live in Las Vegas and Henderson is you never want to drive to California on a Sunday. Thats the day all visitors from California that spend the weekend in Las Vegas are driving back home. Monday if a holiday falls on that day. What is usually a 4 plus hour drive can turn into a 6-8+ hour drive due to all the traffic on 15 to California and if there is a fender bender you might as well camp out. So My wife and I decide to leave on Saturday and stay in New Port beach for Saturday night. Our Grand son, our Grand Daughter in law and our Great Grandson agreed so they too did the same, along with our Daughter and Son in Law. We all took separate cars. Most Vegas locals do not go out on the strip, we do not drive down Las Vegas Blvd nor do we drive on 15 to California anytime on Sunday or Monday if its a Monday holiday. We met at a New Port Beach hotel, after we checked in we walked across the street to a Mexican Restaurant for dinner. Meal was great. After dinner we all walked over to the beach which is only a few yards away and then went back across the street to our hotel. Before going up to the room we took a walk over to the bay which was on the same block as our hotel to watch the boats go by. Soon it was time to get some sleep. More to come…..

Sorry should have taken pics…

On Sunday Morning we met downstairs for breakfast the hotel supplied, which was not bad at all. After we checked out of the hotel we went back across the street to the same Mexican restaurant to have lunch, again was very good. After lunch we left every one and told them we will meet them at the Grand Californian. Our grandson and his family went out to the beach for a while. Our Daughter and Son in law had other plans to do some shopping at some local shops and we went off to the Grocery store to buy food and essencials for the Grand Villa. After a full cart we packed the Suv and on the road for a 20 minute drive to the Grand Californian. We meet our family in the lobby and soon received a text that our room was ready and our room number. We all went upstairs to check out the villa and admire the views from the windows to the pools down below. This is a three bedroom 4 bath, kitchen, dining, livingroom and upstairs game room with a pool table. It was getting close to our dinner reservation time so we called for our luggage and food and started to get ready for our dinner. Our reservations were at Splitsville. Soon we were ready to walk over to Downtown Disney to Splitville which is a restaurant/bowling lanes. We have reserved two lanes and dining tables. We arrived at Splitsville, got our bowling shoes and was escourted to our lanes. Soon we ordered our food and drinks and ate while we bowled. We had alot of fun, even our two year old great grandson had fun bowling. Food was pretty good to. Some of the food that was ordered was the Fish and Chips which were excellent. Poke Tuna very good, Cheese Pizza well not the best, Buffalo chicken really good among a few. After a few hours we went back to our room. We had a lot of fun at Splitsville. It was pretty pricey but definately worth it. We would do that again next time we come. We all sat in the livingroom laughing about the fun we had bowling. Soon it was 9:30 and the fireworks started. We all went out on one of the balconys where we had a nice view. Our Great Grandson loved it and how convenient that we can watch them right from our balcony and we enjoyed that. Soon it was time to get some sleep for a full day tomorrow morning which we booked the VIP tour, a private guide that walks us right on to all the rides and talks about many fun facts about the park. still more to come…..
