Park hopper for first timers?

We go to Disney world often. We always get park hopper and get a lot of use out of them. We are planning our first trip to Disneyland and contimplating adding the park hopper to our ticket. Should we as first timers add it? Seems like with the parks being across from each other we may get a lot of use. it would be a 3 day (maybe 4) parkhppper. Thanks for your help!

Short answer - Yes!
Very easy to park hop at DLR, and if you do it a lot at WDW then you will make good use of it here. Can do without it, but most people recommend it

Rides breaking down? Go to the other side and save a day.

Want Ghirardelli every night? (I do)

Family member demand to ride on web slingers every day?

Sleep in on 60 days out reservation for a certain restaurant? You can try tomorrow.

Notice it's grad night after you get to the park and it's hectic? Bounce to the other park.

Disney add days for an extra ticket event and boot you out at 6? You've still got hours.

Make your plans only to later see Disneyland was starting some event in DCA and you know all the YouTubers/locals/diehards will flock to the new stuff?

I can justify the expense if only because it's always made our trips smoother.

Absolutely! Especially as first-timers. It will give you a lot more freedom to explore, and it's a much more useful thing at DLR than it is as WDW (imo) because the parks are right across from each other.
