Well...after a highly successful anniversary party..it is now time to look to the future...and with that in mind...let me welcome you to the brand-new Chalk Circle....with
Parks Game! Part 9! Keep Playing! Because If You Don't...You'll Be Sorry!

OK...I admit....not my best title...but I'm already thinking ahead to Parks Game X:)

Anyway...Due to many schedule changes in my life...I haven't been in the CC as much lately...but I am going to make an effort to be a more constant presence on this thread...and I just wanted to say thank you to all our players both old and new who have kept this thread growing for the past 2 years...and to paraphrase OT's post in the last thread...
Here's to 50 more :)

Now on with the game...

And I know there are probably some active questions being dragged over from the last thread...
But until those come...yes, the traditional ceremonial first question...:)
In what WDW attraction is there a dog named Nana? And what year did it open???

Have fun :)

Higgs...I would guess that Nana is in Peter Pan's Flight, which opened in 1971!!!

Thanks for starting the new thread. I'll drag over the open questions from the old one. :)

Good to see you here Granny....I missed you at the party last night...

BTW...do you like the Big Screen Plasma TVs in the CC for the football season??? I thought you might appreciate the easy chairs and the TV...I know I do :)

And while you're dragging the questions over...award yourself an AAQ...because you knocked the ceremonial first pitch out of the park...it was Peter Pan's Flight...opened, of course, in 1971!!! :)

Continuation questions from Parks Game: Part 8....

From RU42:
If SE was actually a golf ball:

1. How tall would you be to hit it?
2. How wide would the cup be?
3. If it was a '200 yard shot' what would the SE shot be?

Emperor Higgs guessed:
1. One mile tall
2. 500 feet wide
3. No idea???

From Marty3D:
What is the diameter of Spaceship Earth?

RU42 guessed 165 feet in diameter interior, 180 exterior

From Magickndm:

How many tons of steel did it take to build SSE?

MBabe guessed 1700 tons.

Thanks Higgs. I'm going to hang on to that Ask A Question (AAQ) card since we have three open questions. I didn't drag the responses forward yet which need to be confirmed or rejected.

And I'm waiting for MBabe to show up...she has the game guidelines in her signature and that's a good thing to have on the first page of the new thread!

Viva Part 9!! :p

MBabe drags herself into the CC.....out of breath....

Gee Granny, for an old guy you move pretty fast  Where do you want these CCACs you had me carry?

To help any new players and lurkers understand the eccentricities of the PG Players I have brought along Kimpossible's Primer...

Higgs, Granny..... have an Icy cold beverage for all of your hard work. I have stocked the wet bar with all of our favorites ;)

Cheers!

LOL...I have it on good authority that MBabe is on her way...:p...and see...there she is:)

And I'll guess there is no steel in SSE...(hey,it may be a trick...:))

Oh... one of Higgs' trick questions :bounce: I can't wait!

Here is a little first page softball for you two....

Where in WDW can you find Whips?

:smooth:

LOL...MBabe...since I am leaving for the weekend...I'll hold off on the trick questions for now:)

But as for whips...
MGM...Indy Stunt Show...both in the show...and on the sign....Indy is pictured with a whip
And they probably sell whips at the gift shop by Indy....

And of course Aloha Isle...home of the World Famous Dole Whip:)

OK...I'm out of here...have a great weekend :)

By the way, I'll take a shot at the open questions:

If SSE was a golf ball:

1. You'd be 1.2 miles tall to hit it!
2. Cup would be 417 feet wide?
3. a 200 yard shot would go about 134 miles?

I'll second RU42 on the diameter of SSE.

And I'll say that it weighs 16 million tons, though I have no idea how much of that is steel. Since we love trick questions, I'll guess that there is no steel in SSE!!

Higgs... You found all of the Whips ;)

A travel AAQ card to go for Higgs :bounce:

:smooth:

Higgs.....Have a nice weekend and I expect to see you here with a full report on Monday :p

From RU42:
If SE was actually a golf ball:

1. How tall would you be to hit it?
2. How wide would the cup be?
3. If it was a '200 yard shot' what would the SE shot be?

Emperor Higgs guessed:
1. One mile tall
2. 500 feet wide
3. No idea???

Not bad -

If SE was a golf ball you would need to stand 1.2 miles tall (if you were 6' tall). The hole you would hit into would be about 425 feet diameter (that's bigger then a football field.) The 200 yard hole would translate to about 135 miles in length, approx the width of the state of Florida.

A driver AAQ card for the Emperor and a 3-Wood AAQ card for Granny for the confirmation.

FOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Here is a photo challenge for you:

What and where is this?

Good Luck.

Sorry for the delay again, but we're suffering here at WDW while everyone is without power back home!
Ya'll tried to lose me, didn't you?
Well, MickeyBabe you were right, it was the Mickey Mouse Revue that was downgraded from an E-ticket in 1973.
I don't know about everyone else, but it still boggles my mind that It's a Small World was ever an E-ticket!

Thanks James :) MMR was one of my very favorite attractions :)

I'll use this AAQ card in the morning.

James... It is nice to know you are safe and sound *suffering* at WDW ;)

Morning all  THanks for the leaving the trail of empty Whiparita glasses MBabe and Granny;)

RU is that a headlight from one of the Test Track vehicles?

What is the diameter of Spaceship Earth?
RU42 guessed 165 feet in diameter interior, 180 exterior

I'll give a "close-enough" AAQ to RU42. According to Disney, the diameter is 164 feet (and in case anyone is interested, it sits 18 feet above ground and it's interior is 2 million cubic feet). Still can't find the amount of steel though!

Nice new home Higgs, thanks! :p

And MBabe gets one very heavy AAQ card, she got the weight of steel that makes up SSE at 17 tons...I tried to work the magic number in....sorta. :)

Good morning all! I hope that the storm has not harmed people or property of our little group here!

And Jen, I agree that the picture looks a lot like a headlight. How about the headlight from the locomotive of BTMRR??:p
