Photo package- does booking date matter?

Hello! First time cruiser here. I'm confused as to why the photo packages are listed as individual dates under "onboard fun." Day 1 of my cruise says photo packages are sold out. Does that mean that if I buy it for the second day I can't take pictures the first day? Please be gentle, I'm just very confused! Thanks in advance!

We’ve concluded the system is just poorly coded and limits the number of purchases. If you get the package on a different day, it is fine (I purchased on day 5).

Mine shows a cost of $0.00. I’m concerned about that because I know it isn’t correct. My excursions show the correct cost next to them.
