And stores are open, but you cannot purchase anything unless you become a member. :sad2:

to become a member you have to pay unfortunatly but you can still play without one but you dont get to go to the shops and make your own clothes with your own things:guilty: :sad1:

Now Miss Pink, don't be blue!

You can't shop ANYWHERE without money! (that i know of)

So save your pennies!:)

I think they should have mentioned the membership part before beta ended. That's unfortunate (for those who don't want to pay) that we can't shop. Perhaps I'll pay for a month just to get the Tink stuff.

Yesterday I spent a lot of time gathering flowers, fruits etc ... and then I learn I can't buy stuff in the stores ... kinda stinky if you ask me :headache: They should at least give you a free month to start with.

I found an article that cracks me up. Link

Updated: Quick Stat: 7.5M+ Fairies Created for Disney Fairies

Disney officially announced the launch of Disney Fairies Pixie Hollow today, though we noticed that the site had gone live earlier this month. The world is free to play, supported by a variety of offline toys already at retail and a premium experience available for $5.95/month. Users have been able to create fairies for some time prior to launch, with 2.5 million already created in August 2007. That number is now over 7.5 million. UPDATE: An AP article on the launch has some great stats, including that there are 65 million avatars across Disney's worlds, which have a 5-20% conversion rate into paying customers for an estimated $7 million/month.

“Pixie Hollow is an online destination where fans of all ages can become a Fairy and go to live in a magical world of Tinker Bell and her friends,” Steve Parkis, senior vice president, Disney Online, said in a statement. “More than 7 and a half million Fairies have already been created and, until now, have been all dressed up with no place to go. Now, in Pixie Hollow, Fairies can join their friends, take flight and live their very own Fairy adventures.”

I really wonder where they get their conversion rate figures from, is that just a guess or is that real numbers. Seems premature to figure that out so soon. :confused3 And I agree, give a free month for people.

Well that stinks. I played it once and had no idea what to do. I know I won't pay to play the game. I along with probably more Fairies players would have paid to play VMK. Disney won't get the numbers they expect.. IMO.

I totally didn't realize that you can't buy anything until I tried buying the Tink stuff. I'm so mad! I really wanted to get that one red top too. These Disney games just wanna take our money. Why can't it be more like VMK where I didn't have to pay membership just to "buy" things on the game?

Now that it's not beta, I've found things taking a lot longer to load, even when it's not busy. Has anyone had trouble loading any parts of the journal? Right now, something's not working bc I can't open the Pixie Postings or donate things bc it says it's "Out of Pixie Dust." But I've tried loading the map before and it took so long that I gave up. Anyone else have this problem?

So far it hasn't been that bad for me, but it does take much longer for me to get from room to room now. I had no trouble with that during Beta.

The least they could have done is actually MENTION that you wouldn't be able to shop or make your own clothes unless you pay. They kept promising that the shops would open soon, but never said a word about its exclusiveness. We were all left to figure that out on our own when we happily made our first visit to a newly opened shop. Seriously, they can't let non-members buy ANYTHING? Anything at ALL? Very disappointing. They're already making a profit with the toys and charms you can buy to get exclusive virtual stuff. As it is now, this game is not worth $6.95 a month.

(Oh, and I also have the problem of it taking forever to travel from one area to another since beta ended. I hope they can fix that.)

It's not so bad now, they have made some improvements and changed the loading page and the layout of our journals.

I agree that it's not so right to have to make all players have a membership to buy anything.

When you first sign up, they don't give you much in outfits or furnishings. I do however love the graphics and earning the cute badges...that's about all me & my girls are there for for now, it's too expensive for 4 of us to "pay to play" with all the other sites we play on as well. So I let my girls choose.

Just wished they kept VMK running, I'd pay to play that for sure. Nothing has came close since :(

I bet it would be exactly like club penguin i bought one month of membership i and bought all these items and when my membership ran out i couldnt wear them.

I had a membership and I cancelled it. At the end of the membership period, all of the items you have acquired as a member go away, just to let everyone know. I was warned about it when I cancelled. It doesn't really make sense to me because I still have the dyes; only the clothes and furniture are gone. The dyes are useless to me now since only members can make personal clothes.

Is it like club penguin when your membership expires where your clothes and furniture go into "storage" but then whenever you decide to be a member again you have access to your stuff again? Or do those items you purchased as a member disappear forever? Does anyone know?
