Hi All--my family and I are are staying in a basic room at the Royal Pacific in January while visiting Universal, and I'm working on ways to save money on breakfasts and snacks in order to spend a bit more on the "big" meals. Obviously, portable snacks in my backpack in the park are a must, but in thinking about breakfast, I'm wondering what's the best plan for the room, since it looks like the complimentary continental breakfast only comes with the upgraded rooms.
I get the impression from reading up on things that basic rooms don't have a fridge or a microwave unless requested and paid for. Is this right? And if so, does anyone have any suggestions for good breakfasty things to keep around? We're flying Southwest, so we'll have plenty of room in our luggage for (non-liquid) food and snacks.
Am I also correct that the RP rooms have a Keurig in them? If so, I assume we'll be able to make hot water for instant oatmeal and similar things. Any other suggestions/thoughts?
(Also, while I'm thinking about it--do the room Keurigs use normal K-cups? If we could bring some from home, it'd probably save us some money, too!)
Thanks!
