Planning a family trip for the 1st week of December with 2 days planned at MK. We are renting DVC, so planning to go to MK on Wednesday for Extended Evening Hours. Not planning to do MVMCP.
  • For the 2nd day at MK, trying to determine if it's a good idea to avoid MK on days of the party because of the reduced hours? Or will MK be dead on the morning of MVMCP because many are avoiding the shortened hours?
  • If we go on a day of MVMCP, can I book an ADR for 5:30/5:45pm or do we need to be out at 6pm?

If yesterday (a party day) was any indication, the MK was almost a ghost town in comparison to today. A lot of people who do not have hoppers will avoid the MK on party days, choosing to go on a day when they can stay later and see the fireworks instead.

If you can actually book an ADR for 5:30/5:45 PM, they will honor your reservation but you will be escorted to the exit by a CM when you are done. That's how they handled it a few years ago when we had a late ADR at BOG on a Halloween party night.

Any other confirmation on going to MK on MVMCP day?
We are planning to do that and not sure if it is a good idea.
LOL.... if it is workable, then I can do the laundry in the night :laundy:

As long as you're fine with missing fireworks and experiencing the park at night, then it's fine. I think the reason crowds are so low on party days is due to the fact most guests don't want to use a ticket for a park that is not a full day's experience. Party guests can enter the park starting at 4pm so you may some uptick in crowds at that time, you might not. When we've done the party, we usually arrive early and to me, the park doesn't seem that empty.

Thanks. My guess is that by 4pm most party goers will be coming in.
We will be hitting MK twice and the other day will be a full day, so will not miss the fireworks & night stuffs.
