No doubt some people do have issues with some of the rides at Universal.
Some are more extreme than at Disney with different harnesses.........however, the rides that may give issues all have test seats outside to try before you go on.
Everyone carries their weight differently, actual weight has no bearing on whether you fit or not.....it’s how you’re proportioned more than anything.
There are some threads around......if you search Shrek sized on rides you should bring some up that may be of help to you.
If you have had problems at Disney, expect problems at UO.
If that is your current picture, you should be fine but as mentioned, there are test seats outside the entrance of the rides that are most restrictive.
Do a google search for "Plus size at universal orlando" and you'll get lots of hits with much discussion on this subject. It seems that Forbidden Journey isn't very plus size friendly, but they do have modified seats. (there are others that people have issues with, but FJ is the one I have most researched) I've read each page of a thread here on these boards that is tons of pages long about this subject and from what I can tell you really can't go by weight or even clothing size to know if you'll fit or not. I've seen some folks say that they were able to ride in the modified seats at almost 300 lbs if that makes you feel any better.
I’m 6’3” and was 255 lbs on my last visit (now I’m thankfully 239 and hopefully heading down). The only ride that was a little tough was Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. Very tight in there and kind of hard to breath after the cast member pushed the bar down an extra notch. Other than that, no problems anywhere else. And the experience got me to join a gym as soon as I returned home.
