Price increase -- It's Here! (2/11/20)

One more thought - so a tier 1 ticket is $104 and tier 2 is $114, meanwhile a 2 day ticket is $235. So it’s cheaper to buy 2 1 day tickets than a 2 day ticket for many weekdays.

That can’t be right. Is that right?

I just bought 2 5-day hoppers for our WDW trip in April and 4 4-day Hoppers w/Maxpass for our July 2020 Disneyland stay--both from UT. OUCH. I've received the WDW tickets but not the DLR tickets (did them a couple hours ago). I assume they are swamped.

I was planning on buying the WDW tickets to be able to do our FP+ selections this weekend, but I wasn't counting on having to do the DL tickets yet. We have Signature Plus passes at DL that end in early June. I'd thought about doing a downgraded renewal to Signature, but decided with the price hike to just buy the tickets at the cheaper price--I saved almost $250 off the gate price--and decide on the pass later.

Way too much of my money on tickets today.

The hacker would have to have an ID with your information on it which would be a long way to go just for DisneyTickets.

Make sure you setup 2 factor authentication on your email you used for Disney as well as establish a very strong password that includes numbers, upper/lower case and special characters and IMO should be over 10 characters long.

Yeah I figured I was overthinking it. Thanks!

this reminds me of the confusing WDW tickets. So you can't use one day tickets in December?? Or throughout the 2nd half of the year??

Hubby and I will talk tonight but the best deal I’ve found today is

disneyland daily shared her personal get away today link on facebook

there is a 1 day free thing through that link..

for my family

5 day park hopper with maxpass through her link is 1720

compared to the new Disney price of 2020

.. and then even if I use the getaway today lay way with its 99 fee ... still 200 cheaper.

Be sure to check the LMTC thread, too, and give Betty a call.

For 1 park tickets, yes. For parkhoppers, no.

Tier 1 PH, $159. 2 day PH, $290.

Wasn’t it the same with Value tickets? $104 vs $225 iirc.

God, not this again! Haven't they hijacked prices long enough? I mean, this is Disneyland, not Disney World.

Looks like I need to call LMTC in the morning! Not sure when we are going yet...thinking Tday then upgrade to flex

gross, for a minute I forgot we now have to pay for 3 kids tickets, which means maxpass is $100/day for us. and that's only until my youngest toddler turns 3 and then it's $120/day. ever since the beginning of MP I swore I would never go without it, but honestly that price just makes me roll my eyes. We love taking our kids to Disneyland, and they love it too, but frankly they had just as much fun hiking around the Oregon coast in the summer as they did DL in the fall, so maybe we'll move to an every other year schedule.

I've also always said I would wish they'd raise the price to thin out crowds, and I still agree with that, but the problem is I don't think the crowds will ever thin out. Now people will just be more pissed that they've spent MORE money and it's still crowded. And then it becomes a value/principle thing to me as opposed to just the money.

We are in Oregon and my "kids" are 28, 24, 22, 15, and 12.

haha my kids are 8, 6, 4, and 1, and I was going to suggest the Oregon coast, but you've been there done that I imagine :) I have 3 boys/1 girl, and especially for the boys - they love some lightning McQueen, but I think they loved hiking to beaches and throwing rocks and looking in tidepools for hours on end more.

So, if I have a package booked with the old prices (both ticket and max pass) I'm not impacted by this increase am I? Just want to make sure I'm not on the hook for a higher price now. Thanks!
No, you don’t need to worry. They’ll honor the price that you already locked in.

I have seen taxes and fees added on when going to 3rd party websites.
And we don't recommend those vendors here! We warn people to stay away from them!

WDW tickets are taxed, Disneyland tickets are not.
https://disneyparksmomspanel.disney.go.com/question/tax-added-entrance-tickets-379090/I have never seen 3rd party resellers adding taxes, some may add fees but not the ones I’ve used (ARes, UT and LMTC). They may say something like “inclusive of taxes and fees” but that doesn’t mean they are adding them.
The authorized vendors recommended on this board do not charge tax for DLR tickets. If a vendor charges tax, we warn people!

I believe the Tickets at Work charge taxes and fees and they get away with it because they are based in Florida. A good reason not to use them.
Correct. The vendors we know of that charge tax on DLR tickets are Tickets at Work, Sam's Club (online -- but always double check), and Experience Club. There is no need to buy from these vendors since there are better deals available (untaxed!) from authorized vendors recommended on this board. Also see Mousesavers.com for authorized discount vendors who don't charge tax on DLR tickets.

Somewhat unrelated to the price hike, but I purchased tickets through UT and loaded them into the app.

I feel this is obvious, but the tickets do not activate until we enter the park (we are going in May)? Also, will we still need the paper tickets or can everything be managed through the app now? TY

This is what my experience was 2 weeks ago. I was going to be in the park 2 days -- DL only. It was cheaper to buy two 1 day/1park tickets than buying a 2 day/1park per day ticket. I also used a $100 Disney gift card from Target each day I bought a ticket, so it came out to $99 per ticket, as they were both $104 Value days.
