Priceline Express Deals

Looking at Hotwire 3/20-3/24 and getting $342 4.5/5 4star. According to the map, it’s got to be an AK resort, but any idea which one or which room category? The original price is listed at $629. Any chance at all that this could be a club level room at AKL????

I just booked AKL 5/1-5/3 $296, showed original price as $549 (price of Savanna view) which was a supposed 46% discount. Linked it to MDE and got a standard room. Bit of a bummer...

Still there for me. Not 5 star. 4.5 star.

I see that, too. I can't imagine it's anything other than GF, and it's rated 4.5/5 just like the revealed GF listing. There are no other 4.5 star resorts in Bonnet Creek, and when I go to the distances, I get 0.7 miles from Magic Kingdom. There aren't any non-Disney hotels that close to MK.

I'd feel more comfortable if Airport Shuttle were included, but I can't figure how it's anything else.

Like Priceline, do you check Bonnet Creek on Hotwire? I'm also considering Mar. 21 to 28, if nothing available on Feb. 8 - 15.

There are 2 moderate hotels for 3/21-3/28. Look at the 3.5* deals. One is $204 and gives "garden view" as a room type - this is POFQ. The other is $229 and gives "royal room" as a room type - this is POR

And, yes, you want Bonnet Creek. Nearly every time, "airport shuttle" and no resort fee in Bonnet Creek will be a giveaway you have a WDW hotel, but there are always exceptions. Go ahead and post specific deals that interest you, and usually someone will weigh in on the likely resort.

Just a standard room. After your post I kind of had my fingers crossed, but it seemed unlikely as the suites are all in the preferred section.

My guess is that both the standard rooms and the family suites are available via regular booking, so Hotwire defaulted to the higher price. On the flip side, Hotwire defaults to the lowest price for it in the revealed booking.

It’s still quite a bit less than the “discounted” rate on Disney’s own site or anywhere else I see, so I don’t have a case for the lowest price guarantee, but it IS misleading. I assume there’s nothing I can do about it.

I agree, that is misleading. Thanks for letting me know what you ended up getting. I’ll proceed with caution when it comes to the original price and not assume the booking is for the room category that would match up with that rate.

Likely Jambo standard view but ymmv. People have reported getting different buildings, views. Original price doesn’t mean much. Hotwire defaults to highest op regardless of what actual room category you get.

Good to know- thank you!

I feel like it’s possible but not guaranteed... Last summer I booked AKL on Hotwire and the original price they’d listed matched for savanna view, and savanna view is what I got.

Thanks for the heads up. Seems like it could go either way which makes me a bit nervous to book it.

It looks like The Swan, but the Swan has no free airport shuttle. They do have the other amenities and a $30 + tax resort fee. Another clue would be either a King bed or two Queens.

PL has lately been noting airport shuttle, in error.
Not sure about this but since it doesn't say free airport shuttle, that amenity just means that an airport shuttle is available but you might have to pay for it. I don't know though and have wondered in the past about that.

Could be, but you could say that about any property, as Mears will transport you to any hotel in the area that you want. The “airport shuttle” reference is relatively new for the Swan/Dolphin: it appears in the transparent listings for the Swan/Dolphin, as well. It can be misleading for those not aware, IMO.

I wonder if the list is provided to PL by the property. It is interesting, though, that other OTAs don’t list airport shuttle as an amenity for Swan/Dolphin.

Definitely never think you're getting a certain room. I got burned big time last year with a HW. Opaque rate was $300/night. Thought it had to be family suite. Even the picture showed a cars room. Ended up being LM standard. Luckily was able to get out of it though.

I just want to say a big thank you for all the help on this thread!! I'm debating whether to book POFQ. I have POP booked for about $40 less per night. I've stayed at both and do prefer POFQ, but am trying to stick to a budget. Anyway, that's not your problem. LOL I just wanted to say thank you so much. I will continue to follow for more info.

You can also do a split stay. Stay at Pop when you get there, and plan to do Epcot and DHS those days to take advantage of the skyliner. Then move to POFQ and have a bit more resort time, coupled with MK and AK (since you'll have to take the bus for all parks).

How did you get out of it? I thought the opaque deals were always final.

I think the general rule is don't book unless you are okay with all the options.

In my recent All-Star booking, I was hoping for a family suite or maybe a different resort, but I wouldn't have booked if I didn't think I'd be happy in AS Music standard.

The prices are lower precisely because of the risk. It's okay to not be okay with that.

Since I'm going at a low-er crowd time when there seems to be decent inventory left, I realize that there will probably be better deals if I wait until closer to my trip. For me, though, getting on property for $106/night, including weekends, four months out is more important to me than waiting. That's my comfort level. Others are comfortable rolling the dice a week or two before they go and possibly lucking into an amazing deal, but that level of risk is not for me. You have to decide what works for you.

Any idea what this could be? Maybe CBR pirate room? I was searching for 4 adults with this price.

These are the steps I took to cancel my Hotrate. Results may vary.

I called Disney reservations and told the lady the situation, that I wanted to rebook through Disney but I could only do so if I could cancel my Hotrate.
She set up my reservation, which of course I would typically do by myself online.
She then transferred over to the wholesale department and confirmed with them that they would give permission to hotwire to cancel my reservation with no cancellation fee.
I called Hotwire and spoke to a rep and told him that Disney had given me permission to cancel my reservation with no cancellation fee. I had the wholesale number ready but he didn't ask for it.
Stayed on hold for 30-45 minutes while a "specialist" confirmed the information.
He came back on and told me it had been confirmed and my reservation had been cancelled.

I’m going to guess Pop based on the price and 4.1 Expedia rating.
No. Pop is 4.1, but the $142 deal OP posted has a 4.0 rating, which is either Movies or Music. Looking at the distances, it's 1.3 miles from AK, which is consistent with All Stars.

Now that I'm home on my desktop, I can see the bed type is full beds, which means it's probably Music, not Movies.

There is a 4.1 3* deal on those dates for $164, which is 2.9 miles from AK, so that's likely Pop. The other 4.1 3* deal for $140 is probably AS Sports, being less expensive, having double beds, and being 1 mile from AK.

We are going 4/1-4/8. I see a deal on Hotwire right now for a 3-star hotel in the Bonnet Creek area for $183 a night. It's advertising 62% off the regular price of $478 a night and has a 4.0/5 star rating. There is no resort fee and lists airport shuttle and free internet as amenities. What hotel do you think this might be?
