I have the passporter book and didn’t see anything on MK. Can you have a private dessert party at MK?

This is the deal... I would LOVE a wedding at either train station or gardens but can’t afford the price tag LOL! So I was thinking a Wedding Pavillion ceremony (afternoon) with lunch at California Grill (so I can have castle view in pics) and dessert party that evening.

Would love it to be in MK but not sure if that’s a possibility?

Also, is California Grill the only location I have with good castle view for lunch? I am not quite sure now and can’t recall.

    Thanks!!!!

I was told no, I couldn't have a private dessert party at Magic Kingdom for my wedding. The only way to do it is to book it through Disney, you won't be alone and everyone in your party will need park tickets. They have private viewings for Epcot and Fantasmic.

You can not have a dessert party in the Magic Kingdom unfortunately. Aside from the few ceremony locations (and if you have $18,000 the entire Fantasyland and castle to yourself) you will have to be outside the parks for Happily Ever After fireworks. However there are several things you can do if that is what you want! California Grill like you mention, there are boat cruises where you can also serve food and there are some beach/marina locations where you can view the fireworks. In Carrie's book from last year the Passporter's title these locations are specified on page 162. In this years updated version they are on page 178. You can see photos of most of the venues here:

    Hope this helped!!

Believe me, if you *could* have a private party in the Magic Kingdom, it would be in my Fairytale Weddings Guide!

Speaking of $18k... how does it work for MK... based on my calculations for MK... it would be $15k for F&B and $35K min enhancement right? But is that whole area closed off to you?!?! Does anyone have actual pictures of this...

The Train Station is closed off, but the park is open to people with early breakfast reservations, and then usually everybody by the time your ceremony is over.

Thank you! But what I don’t get is the meal part. Like is the food setup at the train station or you have to pay those minimums regardless of what location is lunch?

No. Wishes events have separate locations for the ceremony and the reception, with separate minimums. When you use the Train Station, it is only for the ceremony. Your reception would have to be held at another park or resort because MK does not offer private receptions. You pay those per-person Train Station food and beverage minimums regardless of where your reception is held. Disney just charges you a higher food and beverage minimum because you had your ceremony at the Train Station.

Ohhhhhh! Wow! That seems so unethical lol! Considering the ceremony is already costing $15k.

Thank you so much for answering all
    my questions!
