This bonus February Day gave us a new member of the family. Our grandson and his Fiancee were married this morning

Oooh, congrats!!!

I kind of like that for an anniversary. On "off" years, they can go out to dinner on the nearest weekend or something (just like many people do anyway) but it will remind them to do something special on the "real" years.

I had lunch with my friend before she leaves for a month in Florida. They gave us a booth which had a sign on the wall saying Everything is gonna be alright. We both looked at each other and said I hope so.
We had the crazy wind here too - my least favorite weather (other than actual natural disasters, of course!)

What a sweet "sign" the sign was for you and your friend. :goodvibes

Happy Friday!

Working dayshift this weekend so no day off for me 😕. I did laundry last night and cleaned a little, I'll finish up tonight.

Dumbo - you're best option for the steps would be to go down on your butt. When my sister had her knee replacement in January that's how she was able to get into her house. She had to go out about once a week to the doctor and until she could bend that knee she had to go up and down on her butt to get in/out of the house. Good luck.

Dzny - congratulations on the new family member. I thought you were going to say that someone had a baby, I was thinking what a cool bday but an anniversary is just as fun on this day.

So I have my eye on a dog at a neighboring state's county pound. She's a 4 year old black lab 🩷. I've decided to wait until Tuesday and if she's still there I was going to go get her. I work from home next Wednesday and I would just take a couple of vacation days for Thursday and Friday to spend time with her. Just what I need, another dog.😬 I'll keep you updated next week.

Have a great day and weekend!

Thank you all forever and always for all your love. Snowysmom :grouphug: thank you my friend. Thank you also for sharing with us about your friend and how God brought you both extra peace. I recently watched an episode of It's a Miracle that showed an overwhelmed woman coming across God's reminder that He is always with her and that indeed all would be okay, through His gift of creating encouraging messages on a paper towel roll just for her to find exactly when she did. The next morning, there was no writing on the paper towels. I believe He did something similar yesterday for you and your friend with the sign. I will post an episode link later when I'm on the laptop.

PollyannaMom:hug:and thank you always for all your kindness and encouraging suggestions. I definitely want to go to the podiatrist. You have renewed my hope that getting down the stairs is a possibility. The red tape truly is ridiculous and as I have been saying all along plain sad because so many people don't get any needed support or care because of it. God willing, a positive update to come later.

Footballmouse:hug:thank you for all the love you give to many of God's critters.

Happy March to all. I will come back later. Pea:grouphug:and prayers!

Good morning.

It was a busy week with Jim having 3 drs. appointments and getting ready for my trip. The good news is that we are moving ahead with the testing to see if he qualifies for the surgery to get him off of the blood thinners. The drs. are worried about him falling now too and the fact that he doesn't tell me when he falls. He also starts in house PT tonight. The hope is to get his gait a little steadier but also for him to face the reality that he needs a walker to het around for his own safety.

I leave for Disney in about 5 days, on wednesday the 6th. I am so looking forward to some me time for my sanity. Thankfully my kids, a neighbor and my grandson will be checking on Jim as well as his best friend. He want's me to make my chili while I am gone and I have 6 individual frozen pizzas in the freezer for him, he likes them. My only worry is his walking the dog but he should be OK. I'm only 2 hours away by plane if I am needed back home so we should be OK.

This bonus February Day gave us a new member of the family. Our grandson and his Fiancee were married this morning at the courthouse in a neighboring town. They were able to put it all together in an amazingly short time. It was a warm loving ceremony and then we all went back to their house for a luncheon, cake and Champagne. They are having a small reception at a very nice restaurant this Sunday evening. I love when the family grows.
Now how will I mark this on next years' calendar? Hmmm?
My nephew got married yesterday too. He lives in Colorado now so none of the family could be there but we are having a party for them when they visit his family in Virginia later this year. I hate that 4 hour drive to my brothers and that I have to get back home the same day but I do want to be there for the celebration.

Not much else going on around here. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Good morning and HAPPY MARCH!
It was cold this morning but will be 55 today and warming into the 60's and 70's starting after a day of rain tomorrow.

I did errands and shopping yesterday and when I was in Walmart my phone started acting odd. It showed my wireless was off and airplane mode was on. I have never used airplane mode and I certainly didn't turn that on or wireless off. I changed them and it came on for about 5 minutes, then kept saying no internet and I couldn't do anything. US Cellular is across the street from there, so I went in.
An hour later, after trying everything under the sun, he couldn't figure it out. Said there was no issue with my account, or my service and there were no tower problems that they knew of. Everything in my phone was set the way it should be. Of course he tried to get me to buy a new phone, but I've only had this one for a year, I'm not changing just yet. He was going to change the sim card and see if that fixed it, but decided to just try refreshing my data and something else I forgot what he said. Bingo, everything worked again. I asked why he hadn't tried that first, instead of wasting an hour. He said he guessed he should have.
Gracie went to the doctor yesterday. She's lost another 10 lbs, (losing too much too rapidly), and he said if she's not better by tomorrow he's going to admit her to the hospital. They have to do something. She's in pain, miserable, and missing way too much school again.

Off to do my morning treadmill workout, then dust and vacuum.

Have a good day

:hug:Bobbi so glad you could walk back up, my friend. I don't think I'd be able to do so right now. Another super frustrating day of insurance. Yes, I have tried to find alternative insurance companies. It seems one issue with this is the enrollment period for Covered CA is over. It would cost me over $500 a month for a PPO plan on my own:scared1:If I could afford that, I would have long ago made the podiatrist appointment on my own and sadly may have to at this point. Insurance first off had no record of the agent's note from yesterday that I requested a call back from a supervisor. I was told yesterday that I would receive this call today. Today's agent told me the waiting period for a call back is 72 hours not including weekends. Today's agent insisted a Teladoc referral does not work for a specialist. She claimed the agent earlier this week who recommended Teladoc to me must have misunderstood my reason for needing Teladoc--not so but okay. Bottom line is zero progress was made. It appears as though I would still need my primary care doctor (I was assigned one who I sure didn't pick) to put in her referral through insurance which could take 2 weeks to be approved. This doctor is associated with a healthcare center and does not appear to have a private office. When I called the number, it goes to an automated system. I finally did get through to someone who then transferred me to another person. Person #2 informed me I had been transferred to "an internal line," and to call back and press "option 7." You got it, there is no true option 7. I did press the option for a call back since, "wait times are higher than normal." Guess what? I did this twice just as an FYI. My phone rang each time. I say, "Hello," only to be greeted by a dial tone. Both times.

Dad does have Medicare along with supplemental insurance. I asked him to call the podiatrist recommended by my dentist who is in our area. Dad is covered to see this doctor, I, of course, am not. It's worth asking whether if dad makes an appointment, the doctor might give me some type of family discount. Pulling straws, I know but desperate. Hang onto any positive insurance you may have dear friends!

I do pray, of course, each of you are having a good day :)

@flyingdumbo127 I am so sorry you are having such a poor experience with the ins companies. It is truly sad that this is the way our system works. I do hope you get a call back from a supervisor soon. I have no suggestions except for seeing if there is a clinic that works with patients based on income level. I know we have some around here as a good friend of mine did this when she was diagnosed with diabetes.

It is a cloudy day around 35 now going into the 40s. Rain is in the forecast most of the weekend as well as next week. It looks like mainly showery type rain and not torrential downpours but that could change. Oh what fun. I took before pictures of my windows in the basement this morning. I will take after pictures once the rain does it thing. I keep trying to get them to have the basement specialist come over but it is like herding cats. In fact, I would rather try to herd cats. At least they are cute.

I am off to get my hair cut. I only want a trim but sometimes she gets talking and just keeps cutting away. Then I will come back to do my taxes. I know I will owe but hopefully not alot.

Have a good day.

:grouphug:and dry condo🙏dear Snowysmom. I wish there were a way to react with two different emoticons to your post. I am very glad you're able to go get your haircut today. God willing, I sure look forward to doing the same sometime soon. :thanks:always my friend for you, your kindness, and suggestions. I will be spending time today making a list for Monday of clinic and doctor options to call. Tomorrow, a true day off from all this!

Grace of God, I slept much better last night. I'm so grateful. It's cool and rainy hete this morning. Good day to be cozy and enjoy cocoa.

Love to all and Happy Saturday.

Good morning. Raining lightly now, supposed to clear up by the afternoon.

Nothing new going on around here. Issue with cell phone bill, waiting for them to call me back. Bill higher than it should be with no explanation. They have a 'new format' bill on their website. The old one was over complicated but at least you could see every single charge and credit. The new one shows me amounts that don't even match the old bill, and our auto pay is missing on top of that. If it's not one thing this week, it's another.

@Snowysmom I hope you don't get more water in the basement. Your comment about herding cats made me laugh. Who knows, maybe the basement specialist will be cute, lol!

Going to vacuum the kitchen and shake the rugs out while it's not raining hard.

Have a great Saturday.

Still rainy here and chilly. I enjoyed a long morning nap. Lynn, I pray you get your cell phone bill straightened out. I wish charges and well a whole lot of things were simpler and made more common sense! PollyannaMom, I hope your cats enjoy some fresh air and that you my friend have a tasty dinner!

:hug:SpaceMan and I am so glad you and your wife also enjoyed extra rest today. Dad, thank God, did stay home today and we both rested this afternoon. We, especially me, don't get as much rest as normal overnight due to the boot, it's such an extra blessing to be able to sleep during the day! Prayers each of you have had a good day. As a cocoa update, we did sadly find out that it has been discontinued. Should any of you be heading to a Kroger or know anyone who lives near one please PM me. I can send you the cocoa link--the only version of this product we would want. I would greatly appreciate you looking. Thank you hugs and always love.

Good morning. It is actually sunny here after an evening and night of rain. It will be on the warmer side in the 50s. Charlotte's birthday party is later this afternoon. The kids will have fun. I did check the basement this morning for water. I am grateful that the only water that came in with this rain is some wetness through a crack in the foundation which crack x is going to fix once they get the OK from the builder. And there was also some water at the usual window but it was just at the top and did not pour over to the entire wall. Making progress but the rain storm was not a big one so I am not getting complacent. I know a big storm will have the usual water issues.

I went to Wegman's early this morning, took a walk, changed the bed, and did some work. While out walking I could hear the birds really chirping and singing. I heard a cardinal but could not see him at first. Then I looked up to a high tree and could just barely make him out. He was a smaller cardinal but his profile and color were unmistakable. The squirrels and chipmunks are running around like crazy.

My cell phone is having issues. Kenny said he called me twice yesterday but I did not hear the calls nor does my phone show that he called. This has happened before. Also sometimes I do not hear texts coming in even though I have the sound on. The phone is only 2 1/2 years old so I don't want to replace it yet. I am still looking for things to settle down for me. It seems like something is always popping up.

Have a good Sunday.

Good sunny Sunday morning. It was super foggy when I got up, but full sun and already 58, heading for 65. So nice out. I turned the heat off, and opened all the windows. The cats think they are in heaven, lol

I got to my chores early. Washed the floors, cleaned the litter boxes, cleaned off the front porch and vacuumed it.
I called Dave to see when it's too early to think about getting that tree down. As soon as the ground dries out and we aren't expecting rain for a few days they can get to it. I've waited long enough to get it down. He just has to call his friend with the cherry picker and see when he will be available.

Its going to be near 70 tomorrow, so I thought he would be doing outdoor jobs, but he said he's probably going to come and fix my front door lock and we'll go get the shelve brackets and he'll cut the live edge boards and get the shelves up in the computer room. I just want to declutter and have things emptier. I'll clear off the 2 book cases and the long heavy wooden book shelf and put a lot of the knick knacks and stuff in the yard sale. I'll put my treasured Disney stuff on the new shelves.

I have been waiting for the new CBS show Elsbeth, which premiered this week. I loved her character when she was on The Good Wife, but I wasn't impressed. I think it's a little 'too much' of the character for me. I'll give it one more chance.

Off to get to some more spring cleaning. Have a great day!
