Rocky Mountain Highs (a non-Disney Trip Report) - COMPLETE 2/17

Well done on the rhyming! :thumbsup2
Just out of curiousity, how does Julie feel about being called a jerk?
Just curious.

Looking forward to the report!

Even though I mistakenly thought I already was............I'm here now!

(Stupid "improved" DIS...........) :headache:

Yes, it is a bit confusing that conversations look like threads now. :goodvibes I am certain that in 10 years time when the DIS gets the next new software you will sing the praises of this one! :thumbsup2

My wife, Julie, brings world-class skills
In logistics and packing, reducing clutter
She’ll provide stunning photography
And many sandwiches filled with peanut butter.
(Gotta stretch the dollars somehow, you know.)
Hey, no throwing in editorial lines! It will surely mess up the Iambic Pentameter, or whatever poetry term applies. Not to mention........you didn't rhyme it with anything!!! :headache:

Scotty’s exploits are legendary here on the DIS
To all who haven’t been nappin’
He has a wonderful talent for making us laugh
We all love it when Scotty happens.
The real reason we all read along with your trips..........well, that and trying to answer the age old question............how the Heck did you ever manage to sucker.........uh, convince...........Julie to start this life adventure with you??? :confused3 I guess at that point, she was none the wiser what lie ahead............ :rotfl:

Lastly, there’s Drew, our littlest guy
Whose arrival threw us for a loop
But we determined he wouldn’t slow our travels down
No matter how much he screams or poops.
Sounds as if Drew is only carrying on the proud Oblivious-boy's family tradition........
(another of those things poor Julie was unaware of in the beginning I'm guessing)

I don't have the time to read another Captain Oblivious trip report. But I just can't help myself... OK, you rhymed me into it. I'm in.

Coming Up Next: No more rhymes now, I mean it!

With a bit more time,
I will not whine
I have read the introduction
You created quite a production

A trip to all fifty states is such a feat
I think that is really neat.

Such a beautiful family
inside and out
I look forward to hearing
All about.......:rolleyes1

I'm here. I will get back as soon as I can to read up, but just back from 9 days at Disney and lots to get caught up at home (Packing to move, etc.).

Bam! And I'm in.
Back to comment (and read) on the first chapter in a bit!

:welcome: pkondz!

Hot Dang!
A reason to break out the bongs.

Signing on sir!

:welcome: Rob! Enjoy your recreational activities.

I feel like I need to respond in verse...:rotfl2:

But I'm too lazy for that, so I'll just go with: HERE! :cool1:

:welcome: Dugette! And I totally get the lazy part. I'm there with you.

Settling in. Proceed.

:welcome: Lynne! Thanks for reading!

Oh!! I am so excited that you are starting! And in poem form!!

:welcome: Magdalene! But don't expect much more of that poetry thing from here on out.

I have to say as the master planner of my travel group (i.e. a couple, not a 6 person family) I cam most certainly state that you are definitely NOT lazy! Trip planning is hard work!!

Yeah, and it take so much out of me I can barely concentrate on any other work.:rolleyes1
Woohoo! I've been looking forward to this. popcorn::

:welcome: Connie!

Aw yeah, all over this.:thumbsup2

:welcome:Alicia!

ETA... Anybody want a peanut?

Anybody want a peanut?

:welcome: Barry!

I have no idea which one of you posted this first, so I'll award you both +1:thumbsup2 point.

Always have to appreciate poop poetry.

:welcome:Andy! And I'm glad somebody appreciates the finer things in life.

And count on that we do! Seriously. I'm so far behind I'm glad you didn't start this thing up right away when you got home.

Life needed to settle down quite a bit before I could start this!

I look forward to reading about another epic Oblivious family vacation.

That makes one person looking forward to it!:rotfl2:

Reporting in from Colorado!

(BTW, the humidity this week in your neck of the woods was awful this week!)

:welcome: Jill! The humidity got even worse this weekend. Ugh.

The Conrad version of the Smith version?
Answer carefully, this is very important.

Conrad, obviously. We're all better off forgetting the Smith version.

Well, five brave souls and one that’s pretty much oblivious and along for the ride.
I’ll leave it to the rest of the reading public to determine the makeup of that contingent.

:rolleyes1

Y’all thrive on chaos so far as I can see.
And it’s still a great goal. I’ll never get even half as close as y’all to finishing it.

I don't know that we thrive on chaos, but we've gotten very used to it.

Let he who is not equally shameless cast the first cup of Beverly.

*gulp*

I can’t see where it’s really slowed y’all down one itty bit.
But you are going to have a lot of backtracking to do so that Drew will get to see (and remember) some of the places you’ve already been.

Well, gosh. I guess you're right. Sigh. It's hard work, but somebody will have to do it.

“Oh, there’s a surprise… I think I'm gonna have a heart attack and die from that surprise!”

+1:thumbsup2

De-lurks?
I like that one. Creative…

I think I stole that from somewhere, actually. Can't take credit.

Well lookie there!
You got some stranger to not only take y’all’s picture, but to even do a good job framing the shot in the process!

Or did you use a tripod and a timer?

No, that was a stranger photo. Actually, Barry photoshopped out the Red Bull can for us but for some reason I couldn't find the good version online.

Ok…
Enough of that, then
Let’s move on to something more important.

Sounds about right.

There we go…
Someone worthy of verse.

Truly.

You are a lucky man.
But then again, young ladies are more likely to clash with mom than dad…

She's still agreeable to being seen with us, so I count that as a win.

He’s the one more likely to start clashing with you at some point.
But being a gear-head will make up for many, many potential character flaws.

He's been clashing with me since birth!

So say we all.
Getting through life is easy; comedy is hard.
Scotty is a natural

They broke the mold when they made him. Then they beat the snot out of the mold-maker.

The only one who has a complete and flawless grasp on his primary directive.
I predict that he will do his utmost to meet the expectations incumbent upon him.

While simultaneously magnifying this TRs cuteness factor by an order of magnitude.

It's a good thing he's cute, I'll say that.

Yeah, the mods are always a bit of a wild-card.
Can neither predict nor explain their actions.

:confused3

Well… that may be debatable.

Even I have my limits.

But that right there is a certainty.

So we agree on that point.

Inconceivable!

but... challenge accepted.

Gotta have some fun, right?

I can't wait to hear all about it!

:welcome: aboard!

DYEEAAHHHHHH!

...and I'm here for the Scotty Happenings, good burgers and great poop stories...

So it's my average TR, then.

...and I think this will be the fastest moving thread on the DISDads forum for awhile...

Don't know what to tell you there...

But :welcome: Randall!

Drew doesn't look like he has chewed on much tree bark. My DS had the same shape but is in a 24x30 pant now. Looking forward to reading about the adventure.

:welcome: Shawn! We used to call David "Big Dave" due to his size, but now he's more like "Average Dave". I guess it happens.

Staking my spot. Will be back to read!

:welcome: Alison!

ETA: Loved the poem and introductions. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Hey, if you're still interested in reading after that, it must have been ok!

I am here---- Now to finish reading.

:welcome: Pat!

Well done on the rhyming! :thumbsup2
Just out of curiousity, how does Julie feel about being called a jerk?
Just curious.

Eh, she's used to it by now. She's called me much worse.

It's still not on the level of IASW.

Even though I mistakenly thought I already was............I'm here now!

(Stupid "improved" DIS...........) :headache:

:welcome: Marv! Hopefully they won't change it again and you'll be able to keep responding.

Yes, it is a bit confusing that conversations look like threads now. :goodvibes I am certain that in 10 years time when the DIS gets the next new software you will sing the praises of this one!

::yes:: Much wisdom in this comment.

Hey, no throwing in editorial lines! It will surely mess up the Iambic Pentameter, or whatever poetry term applies. Not to mention........you didn't rhyme it with anything!!! :headache:

Well, I messed up the rhyme in the previous verse too...:rolleyes1

The real reason we all read along with your trips..........well, that and trying to answer the age old question............how the Heck did you ever manage to sucker.........uh, convince...........Julie to start this life adventure with you??? :confused3 I guess at that point, she was none the wiser what lie ahead............

No idea. But she's stuck with me now!:rotfl:

Sounds as if Drew is only carrying on the proud Oblivious-boy's family tradition........
(another of those things poor Julie was unaware of in the beginning I'm guessing)

She must have had an off day, but I'm all the better for it!

Yeah probably.....................

NOT! :faint:

We will talk about that again in ten years then!

::yes::

In, now get to work.

:welcome: CJ! And yes, sir.

Signing on! Thanks for the signal flare!

:welcome:Glenn!

I don't have the time to read another Captain Oblivious trip report. But I just can't help myself... OK, you rhymed me into it. I'm in.

:welcome:Mike! And don't feel bad, I don't have the time to write one. Yet here I am!

Best. Poem. Ever.:worship:

Well done, Pat! Spoiler alert: we're up to 32 states now.

I'm here, you can start now!

:welcome: Katharina!

I'm here. I will get back as soon as I can to read up, but just back from 9 days at Disney and lots to get caught up at home (Packing to move, etc.).

:welcome: Kathy! I'm sure everyone here understands the pain of returning from Disney.

Speaking of getting started on a TR................... :surfweb:
