Sad News...

There were 2 buses for the Disney excursion that day. On our bus 4 Dr's got off to help the injured, along with our tour guide and bus driver. All unsung heroes in my book.

This was a terrible thing....this happened back in 2009 and hopefully no more things like this will happen.

My daughter-in-law was one of the two nurses (no doctor's) from the Magic excursion that stopped to help. Quite traumatic for her and the others, but glad she was able to help the injured. The one jeep was Disney employees but not from the Magic, just happened to be in Cozumel.

I will always miss my sunny Rodrigo. It´s been the worst two years of my life knowing he will never be back home. So bright, so happy a boy. I will never recover from his loss. So, so, sad without him. But thanks to the people who tried to help him, this is the first time I´m reading about what happened. I was not able before. So much pain.

I´m his mother. My heart is broken. Will always miss him. He was like sunshine to all of us. It´s been two terrible years, I´ve been unable to stop crying every day. He never came back home. He was so happy working at Disney. Miss his laughter forever.

Thank you. I did too.

Wow......just...wow...my prayers to the families...and God bless those who helped at the scene.

Was there an inappropriate post deleted? I don't understand what was reported.

My condolences to all those effected by this accident. I happy and grateful to hear there were medical personal near by to assist the injured.

I am so very sad and sorry for your loss.
Your son's death is beyond anything anyone should have to go through, and I hope your grief is easing day by day.
The only solace I can think of, was he would have been surrounded by people who liked and loved him.

My thought's are with you.

This incident was in 2009. You will notice most of the thread is two years old.

The accident discussed in this thread occurred two years ago. I hope those taken off of the Magic and Carnival ship today are okay.

I too am very sorry for the loss of your son. You say he loved working at Disney, he probably left many memories and magic for those of us who love to visit and talk with the cast members.

My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. He is watching over you and always at your side.

So what was this all about????

For the injured that were flown to Tampa General Hospital, please know that TGH is the best. TGH is a level 1 trauma center, and is the absolute best ever in staff. They fixed my DH when others could not. I'm so sorry for the victims and their family.

Sending well wishes & hugs :goodvibes

I think this post explain's why the thread was brought back to the fore.

because of your courage , i like to express my support, :flower3:

...thank you for sharing a tiny glimpse of his career & life. i think
most of us here have had the "privilege" in making family memories,
extra special @ disney , from the same kindred spirit you
described.

good for you! thru all the tears, you still are remembering all his
"wonders" that he gave you. though , his life was shorten, will
never take away the blessings you shared-as only a mother
& child can. no one, on earth, loves you like your mother! and
as long as you can recall , he is only "missing", not truly gone.

* based on the fact, before many biblical chapters, there are
"spaces" dedicated to all those within the family boundaries.
beget, beget, passing on their memories. as i search for
my own self realizations , ( many years ago)- it dawn on me
why this is so important. true, "time on earth" is our most important
gift on earth, but only to the degree that we used it to
create cherish memories~ with those we share our times with.
especially those we share our love for. i hope you are able to take a
few moments & re-read the feelings you shared about your
son. it is very self evident-:yay:- of a life lived to the fullest~
beyond his young years.

[ many , many co-workers , friends and others hold my words
in high esteem . partly because i have been "bounced" very
frequently. both my parents were gone a long time ago. i
still miss them Q day & frequent in thoughts. i was also
redirected into the people business, so we have to help
others with tragic circumstances. you are not alone. others
can feel & support your grief. you have the right to feel
sad. but in the same token, you also deserve peace &
happiness , again. though no easy task , but i think
you will come to realize that your son would not only
want you to...smile & feel good toward him. so much
that he would be "honored" by all your actions. ]

...where am i coming from? you heard of make a wish?
before that, it was called cripple children. i am one of their
stories. we lost both our parents @ an early age. we have
old 8mm films of my parents "playing" in the backyard with astro,
our departed english-sheep dog. they were in their 40's. my
mother loved her diamond rings..how do i know? she came out
of the house, with the camera rolling, and did a close up. all along,
having a cigarette dangling out of her mouth. oh, the ball they
were playing "keep away" from astro? a giant mickey.

these are just words to offer praise & encourage you toward
the recovery & path back. maybe? your mother is there?
you are her child & i am sure~as my own mother, she will
give you great comforts- than all "us" put together. but i
think all here, are sure rooting for you! :cheer2:

my "lots" in life is a destiny of hard knocks. that's ok,
because those close to me ,express i have the feeling
toward fighting. however, i also been very blessed. 12
years after my mother death, & several miracles , our
daughter entered our family. some how she has golden/
red hair...just liked my mother. one of the strangest thing
i saw, when she was 2, she was acting out exactly the
ways her grandmother. based on all the wonderful
things your son accomplished, i just have the feeling that
someday you will see/feel his "presence" again.

..my work, my career...isn't treated with respect by the general
public. that do not bother us in the least. we do not play
around with people lives. and contary to popular stereotypes,
we have the insights toward helping others. i seldom express
my professional work here, but i am hoping my words have
some comforting support as you continue your healing. i am
so sorry for your terrible lost. :flower3:

...fyi, i used the same things we do @ work, in my own day to
day activity. i am so happy to be able to retired anytime now.
wanta hear....what i learn about maturity since turning 50?
..maturity gives one happiness for looking back @ all the good
things~ "one" has been blessed~ by living life. though this has cause
you great pain, "your son was in~deeds a true blessing." his
life is worth celebrating when you are ready.

good luck~
