September Crowds - Adults vs Families

That's when we went last year and are going back this year. Fewer families with school-age kids, more families with littler kids. Crowds good early but parks were busy after lunch. Surface of the sun/sauna hot most days. Avoid Epcot F&W on Friday and weekends as there tends to be more locals/rowdier groups. F&W overall we didn't love-nice variety, but sometimes long waits for food, or it was so stupidly hot you didn't want to also eat something hot/warm, and there felt like a ton of binge drinking party groups (also seen at F&G this past March). Since we are morning people, our plan is to go hard and RD or take advantage of EMH until noon-ish, then break and either do Disney Springs or another park in the evening.

DH and I are booked for end of September. Any one know what the crowds are like that time of year? I know they are are supposed to be light, but we were wondering about their composition. Are they mostly adults? Families? Young children? Or the typical mix? Curious if as a couple in our mid and early 40s if we will stick out like a sore thumb in a younger or family orientated thumb or if there will be more people like us at that time of year.

You aren't going to stick out, ever.

When we've been in September, we saw a lot of British visitors, a lot of couples, a lot of families with preschool age kids, a lot of families with kids....there's always a big mix of types of family groups at Disney.
