Should we get the Seasons Pass?

Hi all -

We just booked our first trip to Universal Orlando for early May. We're staying at Cabana Bay for a full week, just to enjoy some sunshine and fun. We were planning to buy the 3 parks 3 day park-to-park passes, which right now offers a bonus 2 days. We don't like to spend all day in Parks, so this felt like a great option.

But then I came across the Seasons Pass (lowest tier) and it's only $15 MORE per person. It just so happens were booked on a cruise out of Orlando next January, so we WILL be in the area again...should we go with that seasons pass you think??

Some other thoughts:

Keep an eye out for AP room rates for your trip, could save some decent money if they pop up for you.

Consider upgrading one person to the Preferred pass for the food/merchandise discounts - do the math to see if you will make the up difference for your family over the week. Then you would also have free parking in Jan if you aren't staying onsite for that trip.

Looks like CAPSLOCK was a bit quicker on posting :)

For $15 difference and a good chance you'll be able to return for a second trip, it seems like it definitely makes sense. Just make sure that you keep the blockout dates in mind for both trips.

Two other things to consider:
1. With any Annual Pass, you can get APH rates (when available) for your room which should save you quite a bit. Probably more than your $15pp.
2. If you upgrade 1 Seasonal Pass to Preferred for an extra $110, that gives some good discounts for food and shopping. Depending on how much you spend and where, you could probably come out ahead with such a long visit.

I'm lucky to get Travel Agent discounts for our rooms, so it won't really do anything for us there unfortunately. But I do think it's the way to go, as you both said. It kind of just makes sense for the flexibility, right?

ACK. Nevermind. This doesnt add up. We want access to Volcano Bay, and that's an extra cost. It's more a difference of $105 per person, so we'll probably just stick with the 3 day 2 bonus tickets :(
