"So you're looking for a laughing place, eh? We'll show you a laughing place!"

I love this thread. I keep saying "oh yeah me too!" at each post :rotfl:

Disney is a state of mind!

I love having to decide "Ferry Boat or Monorail?". Dole Whip line. Just the walk down Main Street. Standing in front of the Partners Statue by the Castle. The smell of fried chicken. Thanks for making me smile!

1) Waiting for the Magical Express

2) Hearing the greeter at WL say "welcome home"

3) Walking into MK for the first time each trip -- that's by far my very favorite

Another thing that makes me feel good: Just going to Disney and not having to go to work.:)

AMEN!!

And I keep seeing "the smell of Splash/POtC/Small World water...for me it's certain cleaning products that Disney uses in some of it's restrooms. Anywhere I smell that citrus-ie clean smell, I'm instantly back at the happy place.

Yes, I am aware that I'm slightly odd.

Magic Kingdom - Everything about the Magic Kingdom after dark, but especially the PeopleMover. My absolute favorite thing at Disney World is one of the simplest. Riding the PeopleMover gives everyone a chance to relax and talk after the hustle and bustle of the day. We love it so much we usually stay on for two trips around each time we get on it.

Epcot - Eat to the Beat concerts at the Food & Wine Festival

Animal Kingdom - The patio seating by the lake at Flame Tree BBQ that overlooks Everest

Hollywood Studios - Toy Story Mania is pure fun and it is a great source of friendly competition.

My smiles revolve around my children and grandchildren. Some of the most smile-inducing WDW moments are my:

21 year old daughter suddenly becoming 12 again when meeting characters.

4year old granddaughter showing me and escorting me through the secret exit at the fort on Tom Sawyer's Island.

5year old granddaughter falling asleep in my lap on the boat at night, cruising down the Sassagoula River, after enjoying Yehaa Bob's show.

8year old granddaughter introducing me to all the characters from Cars and the Art of Animation Resort.

I really enjoy WDW, but I love seeing what it does for my girls.

Great thread!
Watching the characters interact with people, in November I absolutely loved watching the army men near TSMM they were awesome. And I also enjoy seeing full grown adults (myself included) laughing and acting like little kids. WDW can bring out the child in just about everyone.

As the begins to darken and the lights are just coming on around the World Showcase, or in the Magic Kingdom. To me, this is more beautiful than seeing the fireworks ( and I LOVE fireworks!)

This is my magical time, and I don't like to miss even a minute of that perfect 15 - 20 period by being inside for a show, attraction, or even a meal.

OK, I also love that walk under the MK train station and emerging for my first look down Main Street, and hundreds of special little places and moments, but twilight tops my list.

This is actually the hardest question ever, I have SO many! Here are a few:

MK: seeing the Castle from Splash Mountain, the room with the mirror in Enchanted Tales with Belle, the star tunnel in the Space Mountain queue, COP, Enchanted Tiki Room, the smell of the Pirates water, watching Wishes from Main Street, the Plaza Ice Cream parlor...I could go on forever, MK's my favorite.

DHS: The pre-show room for Rock n Roller Coaster, One Man's Dream, the Animation building.

Epcot: The fireworks in Soarin'.

As for resorts, the Polynesian gives me the most warm fuzzies. I also feel a huge sense of happiness when we go to DTD the night we arrive because the magic's all starting!

I am really enjoying this thread
I have a couple no one mentioned
In WS the rock band outside Canada, I just love hearing a bag pipe as part of a rock band, the street shows at England and the Beatles Impersonators

In MK I did the backstage tour which was really cool (I am an engineer geek)
and riding CoP with my daughter on our last trip (she was 17)
Going to MK on an EMH night (in the days when it was extra cost) and being part of such a small crowd that DD and DW were dancing up and down Main Street with Chip and Dale

In HS The queue for ToT, watching the street performers, and getting to ride a couple of the headliners with DW after the late Fantasmic on an EMH night when everyone else was leaving

In AK riding on Kali with my daughter who hates to get wet!

and I expect a new one on our next trip when my 19 yo daughter and I go and Drive our dream exotic car (Porsche for me and Audi R8 for her)

Resort: Bay Lake Tower's 10th floor elevator waiting area. For those who don't know, each floor has a different piece of art (mostly characters, but the 5th floor is the monorail) as you get off the elevator. The 10th floor's piece of art is Snow White. My wife and I bought into DVC (with BLT as our home) because of some money we got when my Dad passed away. Snow White was his favorite movie & character. On our first trip using DVC, we got placed on the 10th floor (we didn't know anything about the artwork) and when we got off the elevator, I broke down. It was like he was there with us. I recently took my sister down and though we weren't staying at BLT we went over and I showed her and told her the story, she too broke down. It's someplace I always plan on going, just for a quick smile.

That is a beautiful story, nkosiek. What magic!

Carousel of Progress always makes me think of my grandpa. He had heart trouble, so he couldn't go on many attractions. But CoP was always our special place. When the ride would stop in mid-rotation (as it always did) so we were stuck between two scenes, he would say it was because he was dragging his feet.

My favorite place now would have to be anywhere where I get my first glimpse of the castle. It never gets old.

Driving under the welcome sign-- such anticipation.

I also love the moment in the "Finding Nemo" musical when The Nemo and Marlon characters pass off their puppets, come to the front if the stage, and sing "We Swim Together."

I agree with most of the posts - there are so many things that make me smile, I can't narrow it down to a few, but I can post the first one from every trip:
The Grand Floridian video that's played on the Magical Express on the way to check - in.pixiedust:

Of all the things that could be listed, for me it has to be Main Street, especially the side street on the right half way up the street. A lot of people take it all in when they enter the park and then pass by this side street on their way to the castle. It is so nice to wander in here and just relax and soak it in. It is hard to explain how nice this little corner of the "world" makes you feel.

I'm heading there in just a couple days... mostly looking forward to

MK- A Casey's hot dog, I agree the smell of POTC, beating my husband on Buzz, dodging camel "spit" while eating my Dole Whip and pulled pork sandwich with extra pickles at Cosmic Ray's.

EPCOT - wandering through Morocco to study the beautiful tile, the gardens and coy ponds in Japan, the Cool Spot... I am a Coke collector and this is a must do, usually a couple times each day in the park. Oh and looking for turtles and fish off the side of the bridge between future world and world showcase.

AK - the Komodo Dragon. Yup I've been know to watch him for as long as possible until my husband drags me away. Taking my time to look at the themes in each area. I don't actually do much for rides in this park, its all about the theme for me.

HS - is my favorite park to walk around. I love the street performers. My husband laughing at me when I cry during Beauty and the Beast. Having to take a picture of the pink ranger costume every year in Planet Hollywood shop, because my niece used to love that show.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2, I can't believe that I forgot about this area!!!

My family loves this little area, whenever we go to the Confectionery we like to go and sit down at a table in that area and really absorb the wonderful sounds that come from there...our favorites are the piano lessons and the tap dancing lessons. This area really shows the creativeness and detail that is quintessential Disney :goodvibes. If I had to just pick one Laughing Place in all of WDW, this would definitely be it :goodvibes.

I love walking down Main Street in the MK at rope drop and getting a pic in front of the castle without 10,000 people behind me.

I love everything about Splash Mountain. I'm hoping against hope that they open it up a day or two early from refurb next month so we can ride it.

I love riding BTMRR at night.

I love walking around the WS.

My happiest place on earth, however, is on the Poly beach in the afternoon, lounging under a coconut shell, with a frou frou drink. I experienced a moment of pure zen on our first Poly stay in 2010. It was the happiest I've ever been in my entire life.

In Fantasyland's Winnie The Pooh ride... We get a magical moment every time we see the portrait of Mr. Toad handing the deed to Owl. (and of course our kids have no idea what is a Mr. Toad.)

Hail Mr. Toad!!!

My goodness. I have so many favorite places (Splash Mountain being #1), but I'll go with 4 "spots less travelled" that I always seek out. I LOVE these spots:

Epcot (Canada) - I love sitting with a drink on the wooden bench up by the waterfall. Once in a while, I actually see another person there!:) Such a peaceful place.

MK - TTA at night. I know this isn't really a less travelled spot. But it is not a headliner either. Sooooooo relaxing and beautiful at night.

Epcot - after eating dinner with the latest reservation possible at Rose & Crown, my ultimate warm, fuzzy is walking out of Epcot verrrrry slooooowwwly. The lights, the music, the fountains, the lack of people. This is my favorite time in WDW, and the moment that I dream about.

POP - practically falling asleep while wading in the bowling pin pool at night. It is a quiet pool, beautiful at night, and it's a great way to cool off after a long hot day (I usually go in August!:beach:)

My Happy Places:

Not living in Florida anymore I have a whole new appreciation for the main entrance into Disney World! Just seeing it puts a huge smile on my face!

MK: It sounds silly but while standing in line for Haunted Mansion I love quoting all of the tombstones before we get to them just to prove to DH that I still remember what they all say. My favorite is "Here lies good old Fred, a great big rock fell on his head!"

EPCOT: Walking around World Showcase during Food and Wine and getting our favorites while trying some newbies. However, the Grand Marnier Grey Goose Orange slush is my true happy place at EPCOT!

HS (really MGM): Watching the opening real to Great Movie Ride.

AK: I could stand and watch any of the animals that are playing all day...especially the monkeys! Riding Dinosaur does put a huge smile on my face!

Any resort....a bench (preferably waterside) and my morning coffee, usually at some ridiculously early hour since I can never sleep when I am at WDW. The best was probably at POR, right along the river. Watching the resort come to life while the animals scurry around before too many people started heading out for the day. Looking forward to finding my 'morning spot' at GF and WL in a few weeks.

MK....the welcome music gets me every time; even when I'm not at WDW. Walking under the train trestle for the first time each trip. Barbershop Quartet. Main St transportation. The bridge to Adventureland. The TTA. It's A Small World.

Epcot....the Soarin' music. The garden in the UK (with or without the band playing). The UK shops. Grey Goose slush :) Captain EO. Walking under Spaceship Earth.

HS....the movie montage at the end of GMR. The anticipatory moment/countdown on RnRC; the Aerosmith music.

AK....Jammin Jungle Parade; especially the music. I grin like an idiot from start to end; while singing along, of course. Africa....everything about it. The drummers, the theming, the safari, and so on. The park after the parade, since most people start to leave. The white birds that fill the trees along the river as evening approaches. The silverback gorillas; I usually have to be dragged away from them.

All the parks after dark. There's something so magical about the lights at night.
