There seems to be no soda water at the drink stations... Can I bring my sodastream? It's not electrical and not explicitly on the prohibited items list. Would it be prohibited in the same way as a diving tank because it's pressurized gas?

CO2 tanks can and do explode. I believe that would make it a prohibited item on the ships. I wouldn't risk having it confiscated just for soda water.

You can get soda water at dinner in the MDRs etc. Every time I cruise I put down that I want soda water at the drink station, so I'm excited to be on the Magic in October and finally see it there!

If you have to have it bring cans. You can bring as many as you like as long as they are in your carry on.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough in my response. On the Magic drink station one tap was labelled SODA I assumed this was what the OP was referring to. I assumed it was soda water but never tried it.

Yes. The one labeled "soda" - which is usually on the Sprite fixture - is carbonated water aka "soda water".

On the Magic EBTA in May of this year, one of the machines had a "SODA" tap for the carbonated water without syrup. I didn't take a pic, though.

we actually opted for a case of plastic bottle seltzer instead of water for our carry on items.

OT but as a fan of soda water I was disappointed that they killed the Keurig Kold. I hope some other company takes the technology and refines it.

I had to look that up. The article I read was pretty damning... I'll happily stick with my sodastream.
