Something About Nothing............ #14

Mac, nope. It usually doesn’t wire me. I guess because I only drink one cup, and my tea is caffeinated most of the time.

Charade, I’d share those booming thunder thunderstorms we’ve had. Woke up around 3:30 this morning, as swore somehow a bomb went off in my dream. Why? Guess because a booming, gusty thunderstorm was at that exact time. Took a peak at my phone’s weather radar app, and a yellow blob was over us. Eh, went to the loo, then back to sleep for another hour. We still have thunderstorms chances every day this week. Sigh. But like you, when it’s not raining, it’s so muggy out.

And so, that quick commute, and back into the city I am. Avoiding some puddles on the road, but nothing to block and rarely saw a tree branch down. Very glad I am not West of the city. They had loss of power in some towns, from wind and downed trees, and a main road closed due to flooding.

Ooh today’s a Taco Tuesday, the one where Max can enjoy a Taco Bell meal. No cooking in your hot weather you have been having.

And so, tea for me. Office is almost cool, but I have a three quarter sleeve blouse on. And hot tea, so good so far as to indoor temp. Was very warm and muggy outside even with it only being 65 degrees when I left. Have training to do today, so should make it go faster. At least that is what I am hoping.

A most terrific Taco Tuesday all, maybe even enjoy a taco or two today.

Morning all. Weird start to the week here. Whether it was due to displacing bees from hive the mr found in the now gone shed, or that time of year when hives get crowded and half of the bees set out in search of new spot…

we had a swarm of hundreds of them on the corner of 2nd story of house. i had to google it. Scouts worm their way into structures to look for an optimum site for new colony To reside. All the while the others lurk outside, waiting. Who knew

This, no more than 10 feet from my favored spot on deck and an entrance door. Guess what we found inside the house yesterday morning. :headache::mad:  I’m allergic to bee & wasp venom. dr out of town, thankfully PA called me in an Rx for epipen that i haven’t filled in nearly a decade.

unfortunately, there is a shortage of them, nobody nearby has in stock, back ordered. :sad2:

turns out a spray bottle, filled with half water/white vinegar & a bit of dish soap is working like kryptonite on the ones we discovered Indoors. We are told the Horde will lose interest soon if the scouts don’t return. It hasn’t been far from side, I need a holster lol

happy to go get my hair done as an excuse to get out of the house this morning.

Thankful to see that hurricane heading to FLA, got smacked by a low weather system, and now will hit that state with a tropical storm later this week.
Let’s just say I hope there isn’t a repeat in 10 days:rolleyes1
I’m confused. Do I understand correctly that people used to get their tonsils removed just because that was the thing to do and not because there was a medical problem?? I’m 55 and still have my tonsils.
As Mac said, they stopped it in the 50’s. Had my share of strep throat, etc. It was suggested by family dr for me Off & on until I hit puberty, then they gave up on it. My parents were too cheap lol JK. Surgeries then, even without insurance, were a couple hundred $, max

what’s funny is not too long ago, they would suggest it as an option for sleep apnea too. that money maker was shut down by the insurance companies As to not be efficient
I used to say the same thing Lynne until I moved to the South.

No longer do I desire those high temps you are wanting.
Where I live it’s all electric and no gas power.

We do like our house in Ocala due to it’s location.
Few houses near it as it’s in the horse section.
Mr Mac said we need to keep it.
Just did a mortgage payment for the house few days back.
OoOh, you are keeping it? Sweet :)
When May began, we had the ac on and it stays on until temps drop some time in the fall.

You are lucky Lynne on your electric bill.

I don’t know how peeps managed the heat in the south before ac

Growing up in near St. louis area, summers were hot when parental units did not have ac
I mistakenly switched up the gas & electric payments in January this year.

First month I’ve had an electric bill since, a whopping $19 Due to the large credit.

Lynne may appreciate this tho, PUC let the rules change under broad umbrella of regulation. The transmittal fees and supposedly skyrocketing this month. Can’t wait to see that new avg monthly bill. ugh.

This momma caught the most fish!!! They laugh at my choice of lure (hook) and then mumble under their breath when Mom brings in another one
Good for you! Bass? I’ve had consistently poor luck with lures. Tried fly fishing for trout a few times, not for me. It’s absolutely beautiful there!
I don't know how people lived in the south without a/c either. We have had central air for as long as I can remember. We probably didn't have it when we lived in Alaska, but I don't remember those years.
spent a few years before entering kindergarten in Tampa. No AC, my parents would call me in from playing and until after dinner, would sit in front of a fan or “swim” in a cold tub to try to stay cool. Funny, the neighbor kids never seemed to break a sweat. Believe your body tends to acclimate to it after awhile.

alaska is beautiful, from the balcony of a cruise ship lol. JK, it’s lovely, a bit too isolated/rural for my tastes. Find it fascinating you cannot drive into capital Juneau, boat or plane only.

Summer has finally returned to my neck of the woods! Last week was busy with lunches and dinners with friends, seed implant (ugh-freezing was the worst part), and a show with friends on Sunday followed by dinner.
Yesterday I went with a girlfriend and her adorable 4yr old grand daughter to see Little Mermaid. We all enjoyed it! Visually stunning.
Today a very exciting day, dropping car at dealership for 6mo maintenance. Lol. Will also get ready for surgery tomorrow. Laundry, house cleaning, as I’ll be out of commission for a bit.

Husband still under the weather. Went to doctor Friday and sent for chest X-ray and blood work. At least throat is not sore anymore.

This weekend is a holiday for us, Canada Day. My town always has special event down by the inlet, and the firefighters put on a pancake breakfast. Always happy to support them. This will be the first year I won’t be going, since surg is tomorrow. I assume I won’t be up to it.

@Lynne we picked strawberries once! That was enough, too hard. But oldest was little and I thought it would be a fun activity! Lol. She did have a good time. They should have weighed her before and after! I’m sure more berries got into her than the pail.

@keishashadow DH response about racoon to funny. I teared up too. I didn’t know this one would be so sad.

@Charade I’ll let you know about Aventura! I hear the food court is decent, and walking path to VB. Since daughters ticket includes VB I will upgrade my AP depending on price or do single ticket. And will use Sapphire pool Since it’s next door. And will be an easy move to RP.

@Lynne sounds like you have something brewing. Hope you’re better soon.

@Robo hope Mr’s appt went well.

@Charade67 hopefully the specialist has a cancellation and you get in sooner!

@keishashadow yikes that’s hot! You’ll be ready for Orlando! First part of my 2 weeks will be Aventura, booked a deluxe room to give daughter and I some room and privacy with the L shape. Agree about pool so we’ll go next door to Sapphire pool!

@Charade I love Cracker Barrel! I always go to the one in Deerfield Beach,Fla. too bad there aren’t any here. I think there’s one in Orlando. May have to Uber if it’s not too far!

@Lynne G i saw the trailers for Barbie movie, looks pretty funny!

@macraven so true, I don’t have my tonsils either. Now they’ve done a 180 and don’t take them out anymore, when my youngest should have been.

Quick post while it is quiet here. I am about to nod off at my desk. The problem I am having with my leg is keeping me awake at night. I am so sleepy today, and stupid me scheduled a doctor appointment (unrelated to the leg) at 8:15 this morning. What was I thinking??

Charade, I’d share those booming thunder thunderstorms we’ve had.
You can keep them. The weird thing is the storms hit some of our neighboring cities. One had ping pong size hail.

we had a swarm of hundreds of them on the corner of 2nd story of house.
That would be terrifying to me. I’m a bit phobic when it comes to bees and other stinging insects.

spent a few years before entering kindergarten in Tampa. No AC,
I can’t imagine not having a/c in Tampa. How miserable.

alaska is beautiful, from the balcony of a cruise ship lol. JK, it’s lovely, a bit too isolated/rural for my tastes. Find it fascinating you cannot drive into capital Juneau, boat or plane only.
I love Alaska. I don’t want to live there again, but would love to go back and visit again. There’s lots to do in and around the Anchorage area.

Husband still under the weather. Went to doctor Friday and sent for chest X-ray and blood work. At least throat is not sore anymore.
Hope things start looking up soon.

I’ll let you know about Aventura! I hear the food court is decent, and walking path to VB. Since daughters ticket includes VB I will upgrade my AP depending on price or do single ticket. And will use Sapphire pool Since it’s next door. And will be an easy move to RP.
I have no plans for the waterpark but will probably walk to SF to catch the boat.

Almost lunchtime. I think I will take a nap. The advantage to working in a therapy office - plenty of sofas to sleep on.

Quick Taco Tuesday stop in!

Enjoyed a beautiful evening last night. The house was a " little" warm for me to sleep well last night :rolleyes2 I had to turn on the fan beside my side of the bed for most of the night. So then of course dh doesn't sleep well blah blah blah lol. Sooner or later we will have to give in and put AC in the house.

Quiet evening, not much on tv...so I sat outside and read my book! And the mosquitos were not even bad - even with all the rain we had.

I hope you find an epipen soon. I have heard similar things happening here as well with them too. Hopefully they find a new home - far far away from your home.
Good for you! Bass? I’ve had consistently poor luck with lures. Tried fly fishing for trout a few times, not for me. It’s absolutely beautiful there!
No...no bass in our neck of the woods. Walleye / Pickerel. Very similar to bass, and they were scrappy and hungry last weekend.
adorable 4yr old grand daughter to see Little Mermaid. We all enjoyed it! Visually stunning.
DD took gd to see it. Gd is now obsessed with watching the cartoon version now. Little mermaid is probably one of my favorite Disney cartoons to watch
The problem I am having with my leg is keeping me awake at night. I am so sleepy today, and stupid me scheduled a doctor appointment (unrelated to the leg) at 8:15 this morning. What was I thinking??
Yikes!!!! I don't function well when I'm not sleeping well.

Well, I should get more papers shuffled.

Have a great day everyone!

Eek, I’d be vacating my home if bees tried to make their residence in my walls, Keisha. I too am allergic to bee stings. Saw that happen one time, bees in a home. Saw they pulled tons of bees and honey from the whole inside of one wall of the house. Nope never my home I hope. Wasps tried to set up shop in the corner of my front doorway. Can of spray and now their nest is gone. Thankfully saw it when it was starting. An ewww from me. Am not a flying insect fan at all, well, other than butterflies.

Heard noise outside my office. Oh they are doing their quarterly window cleaning. At least with the rainy weather we have been having, no bird poop on my windows today. So a yay I guess.

We have both small and large mouth bass where I live. When it’s fishing season, I can tell, as the one parking lot near the creek in our close to us state park gets filled quick. My one brother likes to fish, though he likes sea fishing more than fresh water. Will wait until a little later in the summer, as he’ll be bringing back flounder and other. I’ll let his family eat the fish. Not me, though I think older one and DH would eat. Hate the smell of fish. So none in my house welcome.

Ooh looks like rain will hold off until just after dinner. Good, as should be a drier ride home. And maybe even using my shades. With training now over, time will drag.

Hope all are doing well.

Charade how was your doctor appointment today?

Hope you had answers for your questions
and probably had some medical test done

Keep
us posted on how you are doing.

It’s difficult to have a productive day when you don’t get a full sleep at night

Wish you well.

Oooh nothing like my phone buzzing twice with a weather warning. It’s moving fast though, now past us. Still hearing thunder in the distance. Heard our local fire whistle go off. Glad I got home just as large drops were falling. Quite the downpour we just got.

Charade, I hope you do get a cancellation to get your leg and toes looked at. Ack, for not a good night sleep last night.

Stay safe!!!!!

Was sitting in the house and seemed very warm
Mr Mac tried to fix the issue but no luck.

But we do have an appointment tomorrow afternoon to replace the ac which now has bit the dust.

I am sure we can manage one night with no a/c

It’s not like we really have a choice in this matter.

Thanks Pumpkin. We are safe, just up the street from me, loss of power, including the traffic lights. And a tornado sighted near where I work. Was a lightning filled, gusty thunderstorm. And the sun came out just around sunset. More like what are summers are.

Ooh that camel is ready for the more like summer, with humid and thunderstorms around almost every day, when we increase the temps to be 90 degree high by next Wednesday. Tomorrow is 80 degrees the high, and no high less than that in the next 10 day forecast. Ah, love the summer heat.

Mac, hope your new AC cools your home quick. I’m sure you’ll have a warm night. Cats will find the coolest place in your house. They will appreciate the new AC too.

Sigh. Almost bedtime for me. After that wake up in the middle of the night, due to hearing that stormy weather in the overnight, and commuting today, I’m tired.

Hope all have a most restful and a good night sleep. Camel sighting tomorrow. Yay, this week before the holiday and change of month, is going by fast.

Thanks Lynne
If our ac does not get fixed tomorrow, we will stay at a local hotel.
Doing ok with ceiling fans on today but this will grow old quickly.

I can handle the heat better than the cold weather.

Ah, and what day is it after enjoying those tacos yesterday?

A Wednesday. Yep, who do I see?
IMG_1663.jpeg

Ah hello camel in that oh so beautiful desert sunshine. And he’s here to welcome you to this summer mid week day, where we get over a hump feeling that Friday is now 2 days away. You know, the one before our holiday Tuesday. The one that starts my lazy five days. Woot!

And so, Mac, I don’t blame you. Too hot to stay in a house that does not have its AC working. Even here, it’s nice to have a cool feeling home. Good luck mummy dust sent that the AC gets that fix to be working or fast install of a new working one.

Ah, weather. When your phone says the dew point is 97 percent, you know it’s humid out. The chance of rain is late in the day, but early weather news says, mostly partly cloudy day, with a bit of a clear sky for two hours in the early morning, then more clouds arrive, to make it that partly sunny day. The winner of the week is tomorrow. A sky clearing starting around 1 am tomorrow, then a glorious full day of sunshine and boom, our Thursday will be that perfect most sunny, clear blue skies, early summer day, with 83 the high. But then the next three days, you know, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all day rainy days. Eh, glad my commute was earlier this week. That way I can smile as the sunshine pours through my windows tomorrow.

So today, have a great and blessedly wonderful Wednesday. And a very good morning too.

Oooh tea for me, Yay. And got that rental for August down a dollar. I am hoping it goes down even further. Got my September one down 100 dollars. Cheapest I have seen in awhile, unlike August. But I have time for both, to rinse and repeat and do those cancellations when I see a cheaper reservation. Best prices so far for both hotels and airfare. Though have seen airfare in September go up in price since I once got a good drop, and now have just over 60 dollars credit to use in less than a year now. And my save more rate for hotel in September and AP rates in August are lowest I got so far. But even those, I will keep checking for a lower price, Ooh guess I should be planning another trip with that airfare credit. 😊

Doesn’t feel the weather is that bad now. All set up with the ac appointment for today

I think all will work out fine.

Still trying to score flight time, some trips I hit a good date and rate
crossing my fingers on this one.

How are all the homies doing?
charade I do hope you see your doc soon and feel better real soon.

Just skimming thru posts. Got to leave for surgery in 50min.

Seems like lots of us are allergic to bee/wasp stings! I gave up keeping epi pen as it coukd be years between stings. Usually localized huge swelling and usually gets infected. Arm or whatever blows up. Once got anaphylaxis but I always keep a bottle of Benedryl at home and take immediately.

Have a good Hump Day!

Sue, I’m hoping the surgery goes so perfectly well. Sending gentle hugs that you take your time in recovering. And hope you feel good in August, as would be nice if we could meet up this time.

Oooh kid has to wear his 45n mask today. Just issued to my phone wax Code Red Air Alert, as that smoke from the Canadian wildfires is over the whole state. Ugh. Though should be a neat sunset if smoke still around in the evening. For some reason. I thought those fires weee out. New fire stayed in their forest? Scary times if you are near those fires. Stay safe our northern neighbors.
