At Disney or elsewhere? I have - twice at DCA. Once was near the top of Mickey's Fun Wheel and once was on Grizzly River Rapids. Both were mechanical break-downs of some sort.

In the first, we were stopped for 20 minutes or so and it took about an hour start-to-finish for us to finally exit the car. We were with a couple of teens (strangers to us) and the young lady was on the verge of panic for a bit - we kept her distracted and even talked to her mom on the phone. The second instance was a little dicier because people kept trying to bail out of their ride vehicles thinking they could just climb down the ride structure. CM's had a heck of a time controlling that but given the protocols they obviously had in place, having that ride stall was certainly not an uncommon occurrence.

All's well that ends well. I'm sure these things happen countless times.

1) Last year, at Disneyland on the Monsters Inc ride. They came in and escorted us out, and asked us not to take pictures.
2) 2 years ago at WDW (our first trip there). The monorail died. We were in the station at the Magic Kingdom fortunately, but left us in a pickle. We had to get back to the Grand Floridian to get our luggage and meet our bus to go to the airport to go home. And with the monorail down, that left the boats as the only option to get back, and the lines were unbelievable. They got additional and bigger boats into service within 30 minutes, and we did make it back in time, but was a bit hairy. Kind of surprised given how close GF is to the Magic Kingdom, that there isn't a pedestrian route between the two like there is between the Contemporary and the Magic Kingdom.

IASW. Stuck in the white room for about 25 minutes. My husband was on the verge of abandoning ship, lol.

Spaceship Earth. We were in that small corridor just as you're done with the ride, where you can start to see into the room with all the activities as you exit. Stuck for 40 minutes. We were the last to evacuate, they start at the top apparently. Staring at green walls and a sliver of a window is no fun. But we survived.

In the late 90's Disneyland removed the People Mover and installed something called Rocket Rods that used the track. It was a problem ride from the start, frequently breaking down and often closed for long periods. Disney gave up after about two years and removed it.

One time my family got stuck in a car along the track. It took about an hour for a cherry picker to arrive and "rescue" us. A CM gave us a slip of paper and said to go to Guest Relations. We expected maybe a coupon for a free Mickey Bar or at most 50% off a meal. But they gave us all free return tickets for another visit.

Back in the early 80's our raft got stuck at Six Flags Congo Rapids river ride. Employees had to use a cable and winch to retrieve and secure us to the side so the raft could be evacuated. We exited through the maintenance catwalks and pathways.

At Disney or elsewhere?

Yep, on a water coaster at 6 Flags. It was a mechanical failure, and an employee escorted us off via the walkways they use to inspect the ride. It really didn't take long, and we were fine.

Once on Haunted Mansion but not for long. It was in the graveyard scene.

And once on the monorail. Wouldn’t have been so bad but we were with a bunch of grumpy, tired, whiney jr high choir kids (which equal OH so dramatic!lol).

We were stuck on the People Mover at WDW, I think for about 30 minutes. We were on an outside part of the track so it was very enjoyable. We got to people watch and rest our tired feet. Eventually a cast member came and walked us off and out through a small office into a gift shop. We were each given a fast pass.

Pirates at Disneyland for almost 2 hours. It was 15 years ago, right before or right after one of it's big refurbs, when it was down for months. Anyway, about 10pm, so not all boats were full, must have been down for a while before we got on because there was nobody in any of the boats ahead of us. We stopped towards the end where the fire is, under the dangling foot guy and they did an announcement and then another....pretty soon the lights came on and another announcement about we were going to have to be escorted off the boats. Funnily enough even with the lights on the music continues to play but they must have just turned down the volume because it was quiet and everything is still moving. They actually sent out people in those wader pants to push the boats where they needed to go. They must've worked from the beginning to the end because we were the last ones off. They pushed us back toward a platform and we got to go up some stairs and then down some stairs, through all kinds of backstage areas...we even passed through some kinda cast member break room. We ended up going up stairs again and came out near the bathrooms in NOS. We were given anytime fast passes for use just that day...which did us no good because it was about 10 minutes before close and we were just ready to go at that point. It was kinda fun...fun story anyway.

Another time it was Indiana Jones and it was awhile but not as long as Pirates. There was a lady freaking out in our car and kept trying to climb out of her restraint. The kept saying over the speaker please stay seated someone will be with you as soon as they can. We were at the very beginning of the ride so a short walk to be escorted off.

twice-

it's a small world-about 45 minutes:crazy2::crazy2: the most horrific thing about it is that each section only plays a small repeating loop of the song so we had to listen over and over and over and over.....to 'it's a world of laughter a world of tears, it's a world of laughter a world of tears'. the little kid behind us began crying hystericaly and screaming 'mommy make the dollies stop!!!!'. it was torture.

space mountain-about 20 minutes. that was interesting b/c they turned on all the lights so you could see the tracks and the interior of the building.

Been on many stoppages but the only time we were ever evaced was on Kong at Universal. They brought out platforms for us to step out onto and walk down a couple stairs. Everyone got a one-ride Express Pass but since we already have that we gave them to some random people later.

In Wildwood there used to be a ski lift ride that went from one end of the pier and back again. I got stuck at the very top (about 50-60 feet high I imagine), at night, on a pretty breezy night at that. I don't remember how long we were up there, but it was way longer than a few minutes. At first, they were going to try and get me to the pole, which had a ladder, but decided I wouldn't be safe enough. I had to be cherry-picked off, and I remember the sheer terror of the swing swaying as they prepared to get me into the bucket. My palms are sweating now as I type. Never again.

I’ve been to Disney world twice (about 15 years apart) and both times we got stuck on IASW. Very annoying, lol.

Was on Spaceship Earth for a stoppage, but that wasn’t too long.

Top of Grizzly River Run. It was 100 degrees out and some idiot decided to jump in the water. The protocol is to drain the whole ride. It took forever, at least an hour I think. We were baking in the sun and they did bring us some water before we were escorted off the ride. It was frustrating that it took so long.

I posted this in the Gondola Thread before I saw your thread, so I'll post it here too!

Our 2 older kids & I along w/ an older couple & 2 other boys were once stuck on Splash Mountain at the outside top part in the sun in September for over an hour. It was our log & either one or 2 logs behind us.

The ride shut down, & everyone else was evacuated pretty quickly, but, for whatever reason, they couldn't evacuate us.

We were literally one step away from the side - we would have had to probably put one foot down in the water & then step up onto the side. However, the castmembers wouldn't let us. One castmember said, "You wouldn't want to put your feet in this water!" And I remember thinking to myself, "This is the SAME water that gets splashed in my face after we land at the bottom!"

They had the Splash Mountain castmembers around us, but the "suits" also eventually came out. And they were all radioing back & forth to each other.

We were given water, but we never given any "pee" bags! LOL! I told my kids just to sip the water, because I didn't want them to have to go the bathroom. They were younger at the time, & we all 3 fit on one row.

They could reach our log to distribute the water, & we passed water back to the logs behind us.

They finally decided to push us to the side, & we were able to get out & then were given several any-time fastpasses. (It was before FP+.) The older couple who had been in our log were on their way out of the park & had a plane to catch, so they gave us all their fastpasses. (They had wanted to ride Splash Mountain one more quick time before they left! LOL!)

DH & our younger son were waiting for us, &, until he realized what happened, DH was really worried.

I ended up w/ a migraine from sitting in the sun for so long, & we also missed our ADR at Tony's Town Square.

But we had TONS of fastpasses - so many that we couldn't use them all & ended up giving some of them to another family.

Are you talking about the sky ride high over the wooden roller coaster?

Decades ago that same pier had a different sky ride that turned around over the ocean. The beach didn't used to be so humongous 50 years ago.

I think that the longest we were stopped was on Splash Mountain in 1998. My daughter and I had decided to take a second ride, and my husband and son were waiting for us. We were at the after hours event (extra magic hours that you paid for at that time...can't remember the name). Our log had just started up that first ramp, so we were stopped at an angle. They quickly evacuated the logs behind us, but we weren't allowed to step out of our log even though we could have done so very easily because we were on that angle. We sat there for about an hour before they finally were able to pull our log back and unload us. My husband and son were told repeatedly that it would be "any minute" so they did not go off and enjoy any other rides. Also, it was before we had cell phones, so they wouldn't have known how to let us know where they were or when we were finally off the ride. It was a real waste of money that night!

The second-longest that required a walk-off was on Pirate's (WDW) a few years ago. A horrible storm came through the area and knocked out power to part of the park. We had no clue that there was even a storm going on, but our boat stopped just before the drop. They were able to evacuate other boats more easily and had people in waders pushing other boats to an unload area. We didn't have that big a step out, but they determined that our boat needed to wait for Reedy Creek fire fighters to come help us off the boat. I really have no idea how long we were sitting there--maybe 30-40 minutes. In some ways it was good because we missed the entire storm and would have had to wait that out somewhere anyway.

We got stuck on the "Carousel of Progress". At least we were sitting in comfortable seats and it is air conditioned . it was July. Only problem was we got to see and listen to the same scene 4 times before we were evacuated. LOL. It was painful.

At DL, we were stuck for quite awhile on Little mermaid but didn't have to be evacuated. It seemed like we were there longer than we problems were.

On DINOSAUR, right near the and where the giant Dino shows its face above your head!!. It was pitch black, couldn't even see your hand in front of your face. I was glad my kids were old enough to not freak out! I remember it being about 10 minutes in the dark.
