Stress, Celebration and early departures now live from Disney 8/22 complete

Finally , we briefly headed to AK for our Pizzafari dinner. I have seen this a number of times but didn’t quite appreciate how much food there is. This is for three counter service.
The salad was very fresh. The chicken got the thumbs up from DD so I let her eat mine too. Both lots of pasta were nicely cooked. Simple but well done. We only ate half the cheese pizza between us. I hadn’t seen that you can choose from cheese, pepperoni, sausage or vegetable.
The cannoli were so good I may have eaten 4 of the 5!
I had a bud light with mine.

We headed to MK this morning after giving our luggage to bell Services ready for our room change.
We had another BOG meal. Lunch this time. I don’t particularly rate this meal except that in peak season you are guaranteed a nice table in air conditioning. DD and DS rate it higher than I do.
We used 3 cs credits and 1 snack. I had the prime dip sandwich. This was ok but not nearly so good as the one in the food court. I also had a peach Bellini. Now in the U.K. these are sweet. Here it was really sour, like something containing angastura bitters. DS had the new chicken meal which heF4B8EEDA-EC51-43FB-B097-B88751E7E6A9.jpeg75BCC3FC-5C06-4305-A10D-4418E7EF41BE.jpegA29E2FAA-99A6-4CD9-BAC9-EF6345C790B3.jpeg2BA813A0-92FF-4AF7-83DF-053CD88E5BA5.jpegDE461B20-A9B3-4CE3-9A4E-A3BD33E6CA34.jpeg really enjoyed. DD had the turkey sandwich minus mustard and used a snack credit for the grey stuff cupcake which tastes like squished Oreo icing.

On the way out of MK DS decided to have another plaza sundae. I didn’t take a photo of his as it was identical to the previous one but what I did forget to mention is that you get a choice of 2 scoops of ice cream in this and today he went for cookies and cream with strawberry. I succumbed to the ‘All American Sundae ‘ with chocolate and vanilla ice cream and hot fudge and peanut butter sauce. This was so good but I dread to think what the fat content is!!!! 7E3D1396-C2B1-41B7-9A6B-46576BC12ED9.jpeg

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better (wow does Disney food improve year on year) tonight we visited the Polite Pig at DS. Although the hour wait for a bus meant we couldn’t make it to fireworks afterwards the food was fabulous. I expected it to be good value for money but it surpassed many ts meals I have eaten.
For 3 cs:
I had prime brisket, smoked cauliflower, slaw, jalapeño cornbread and a grapefruit margarita. The beef and slaw were good but the cauliflower and cornbread were amazing. The margarita was one of the best I have ever tried and bizarrely not as sour as the peach Bellini at BOG.
DS had the ribs. Now I often see people say on disboards that they can split meals. Let me tell you we rarely find this. These ribs were a full rack. Still with slaw and jalapeño cornbread but he went with waffle fries and a soft drink (I think the ID situation over here is putting him off drinking!)
DD had the pork shoulder with the same sides as DS and a water.
I could seriously return here tomorrow!

Love your commitment to the live reporting! Polite Pig look a great :)
I’ve discovered it’s a great way to relieve the boredom of queuing! 😂
Enjoying your posts!! Your Polite Pig meals look delicious! I'm really craving a margarita now, too. 🍹
Thank you. It was very good. You really don’t get the variety in the U.K.

After traveling for work and sleeping in today, I'm finally catching up on your report! I have to say that I'm quite intrigued by the Polite Pig. I will definitely have to put that on my list of places to try! Also I've always had a very good experience with BoG breakfasts as well. i'm very much looking forward to our Biergarten lunch (and to see you as well of course!). And we'll have to try some fun drinks in Epcot!

Honestly, I can highly recommend The Polite Pig. I think I could happily just work my way through their sides. Looking forward to seeing you at The Biergarten too. Especially looking forward to pretzel bread.
I haven’t had many drinks despite them being included on qsdp as it is so hot that I’m worried about dehydration!
See you next week for photos of your food 😉

At breakfast this morning we headed over to the food court at POR leaving DS a while longer asleep. I used 2 snack credits to bring him and I a pastry back. WDW pastries are generally good but no better than any grocery store. I miss cheese danish!
DD went for the chocolate chip pancakes. Good but not as great as Roaring fork.AF5138ED-C355-4109-9A9B-AC27D529247A.jpeg22664272-F1BC-4366-A7F5-D72DAA6C5E79.jpeg23B92DC6-941D-40C1-BE4F-984992B5E5BC.jpeg

AK Starbucks are the fastest at WDW. They know how to move a long line. I had my favourite caramel Frappuccino with coffee (skinny but with cream for slightly less guilt) and DS who apparently loves peach iced tea in the UK (who knew? a new thing since he went to university?) asked for that but as it wasn’t on the menu I got the passion fruit for him. Compared to other drinks in the parks these are a bargain for a snack credit.CDF7858F-3A48-4CD0-9B09-1A45D5D26686.jpegE4F5BF22-106C-400E-BD3A-DD8443AF54A8.jpegCDF7858F-3A48-4CD0-9B09-1A45D5D26686.jpegE4F5BF22-106C-400E-BD3A-DD8443AF54A8.jpeg

We came back to the resort and decided to try the French Quarter for lunch. I definitely prefer the Riverside Mill. DD used a snack credit for carrot and celery (with ranch but of course she didn’t want the ranch). We split a portion of beignets. Im glad I tried to them but it they weren’t anything special IMHO.
DS had the lasagne which he ate before I could take a photo. I had the Voodoo chicken. Chicken in a bun with Swiss, mushrooms and onions. The Voodoo sauce was nice and spicy but not too hot and served on the side. Very nice but I’ll stick to POR in future although one plus is that they have the freestyle coke machines and also hot tea.7946AA49-40F5-497B-BF5B-51000BC09BB8.jpeg4E31E6DB-69DE-4F63-AA46-F3D0AC8DC832.jpeg93524042-007A-4756-ADA0-0936BCA7537C.jpegB51FF725-FC4C-48DB-B7ED-5D9044AC65A4.jpeg

Another thanks for the excellent pictures from Polite Pig. Been wondering what the food looked like :).
Thank you for your message. For years we relied on the disboards photos to help inform our choices. Now my kids are old enough for me to have free time it’s nice to pay it forward.

Tonight both kids decided to have the carvery option at Riverside. They both chose beef and mash. DS had his with gravy and corn. DD had hers without gravy and with French beans. They grabbed a milk each for tomorrow morning.162D55E4-D5CC-435D-8F50-24E1595B403C.jpeg

I waited until we went into Epcot for Illuminations (can anyone believe they have anything better to offer than this show?)
I dithered for ages and then decided to try something new the lamb schwarma platter from Morocco. The lamb is like doner meat, served with a parsley salad, hummus, warm bread and couscous. I wasn’t keen on the couscous but everything else was quite nice. Service here was fantastic and the counter service is exceptionally clean. I tried a Moroccan beer. Similar to the Indian brand Cobra in taste. Went down very nicely.08570919-1D5C-4927-93D1-CA9C2949F4D1.jpeg

This morning we paid oop for Trails End Brunch. Last trip we did dinner here and thought it was a great buffet. I saw reports of the brunch served on Saturday and Sunday from 730 until 2pm and also reports that if you booked for about 1030 then you would be in changeover and get some breakfast and some lunch items.
I think this is a good deal but unfortunately we just don’t eat the amount of food we used to and I wouldn’t say we ate $29 worth.
If you have a hearty appetite then I highly recommend it.
Both DS and DD had moonshine to drink (soft drinks included in the price). This is the same as Boma’s jungle juice and Ohana’s lilikoi.
I had a pot of decaff. I would say that the breakfast offerings were far superior to the lunch. 17030CA7-9EDA-4C06-96EC-B5555A2A40F8.jpeg879DB4DC-9C33-4478-A3F2-DC1E52C5CE49.jpeg34B4C98A-06F9-44FC-9B48-38260CF64726.jpegBDECC6BE-C368-4205-A36C-423C02E8B3D9.jpeg072DC446-3D9B-4D69-9DBA-574BC9921811.jpeg
