Yes, wish we could have had that drink, definitely next time!! Unfortunately we leave on July 4th, so no fireworks for us at DW, we fly down on the 1st and leave the 4th, so it's a super quick trip! But a birthday trip none the less!

You've done so well at getting your TR finished! I have been seriously neglectful of my TR, like Lindsey said, I should probably stop writing them since I can't seem to keep up with it.

Okay, so I am back again after an absence! I've been having problems with my ipad and the DIS so I have to use a real computer or a laptop and it just makes things more complicated. I have heard good things about charcoal too. I may need to look into it. As I get older, my face has definitely gotten worse!

He did so well in BatB! I didn't realize til later that he was in The Hobbit, as well. And yes, while I didn't really like The Hobbit that much, I am a Lord of the Rings nerd as much as a Star Wars and Harry Potter nerd. LOL

Me too love LOTR, I was a huge fan of Legolas. I did like Bard in the Hobbit, thought it was a good character. Nerds are the best!

I think the new track opened before our trip last year and we may very well have been on it for all I know...lol.

It definitely breaks down less lol.

Love it! But, I feel almost guilty saying this; I think I am trying a Harvey next. I love my Dooney but I just like the how the harvey's look as well. They are releasing a BatB collection in a few days. I doubt I get one of those because I am going to look closer to my birthday...or at least after our trip, but ya never know....lol.

I ended up dropping B&C from our full DHS day and replacing it with Backlot. Just seems to be a good QS choice.

I dropped B & C as well, just wanted to spend more time at the parks. And also we're eating at Sci Fi that same day and the food is very similar. Maybe we will stop by just for a sundae because I want to take that Mickey sink bowl home with me!

We love it too and plan to take advantage of the bucket and refill thing going on at the parks.

Love the popcorn! I'd hate to carry around a popcorn bucket though. I'm trying to carry less stuff, not more. LOL

Hi, Su-Lynn! I was excited to see that you had a new trip report waiting for me! I'm sure I'll miss a few things that I wanted to comment on (as I've read your report in chunks), but did want to say a few things!

First, congratulations on your first RunDisney race! It's too bad that you had so many issues prior to your race, but then it's all the more impressive that you finished! Running through Epcot must have been so fun!

I'm glad you got a chance to see Rivers of Light, even if it wasn't your favorite! Also, your lunch at Tiffins looked AMAZING - it shows how much I'm out of the Disney loop in that I didn't even know about that restaurant! I look forward to trying it someday!

It's also fun that you got to have so many DISmeets! It's also fabulous that you had the opportunity to visit the Top of the World lounge.

The Star Wars tour looked pretty fun - although Star Wars has never been an obsession of mine (I've seen and enjoyed the movies, but I don't know and understand it as well as I do Harry Potter!), it looks like an interesting tour with fun perks. The dessert party looks especially appealing (although I've never found a dessert I didn't like! ).

During this time we'd be able to get character pictures with Chewie and Kylo Ren without waiting in line. We just had to flash our tour lanyards and we would bypass the line. Instant FP for something you can't FP regularly - cool!

I am really hoping this doesn't affect us too much. My only choices for the party were a Monday or a Saturday and they do the tour both days. I'm hoping Monday was the better choice.

During the party we used our special lanyards to get "FP" for all the meet n greets. First up was Chewie!

Love it!!!

Then was Kylo Ren, who I would rather not meet because he cracks me up too much, but oh we might as well.

Kylo is all we saw last time (I was so sad to miss Chewie) and I truly wasn't impressed. He is so whiny in the movie so I am kind of over him. He is so not a good villain in my opinion. He doesn't compare to Darth Vader in the slightest, so we may skip him this time.

When we got back to our dessert table I was checking my phone and then a Stormtrooper came up behind me and asked for my ID! OMG Stormtrooper selfie time!! I've waited a whole year for them to come take a picture with me and they always ignore me but now was my chance!

So cool!

Those in the VIP tour who want to go early followed the guides out and we walked over to the reserved viewing area, an entire box all for us! If you didn't want to go early you can wait until the rest of the people are escorted over. Some maybe wanted to enjoy more of the libations and desserts, although after 15 minutes of eating desserts you're kinda like, I'm done.

I'm planning to take the advice in the SW thread and head out early too but I wonder if there will be issues since the tour group goes early as well.

I'm asking for Row B1 this trip. My Dh and AJ will ride first so I am going to tell him the same but watch him NOT follow my directions.

The price is great because the dessert party is already 70 bucks, plus you get dinner and popcorn which is already another 20 bucks, not including all the bottles of water we got. So you're only paying like 30+ bucks for some VIP treatment. I'm not sure how long they will offer the tour for but if you're a SW fan and are going to be in Disney soon, I think it's a great deal.

I think I would like it but I just can't give up that much park time.

BTW, did anyone see Beauty and the Beast yet? We saw it last night...amazing, beautiful visuals...we loved it!

I finally got to see it over Spring Break with Mom. Great movie! We loved it!

I was also tempted to try out that VIP bus service that takes you from park to park without having to go through bag check again, but they had raised the prices of it right before we arrived to 19.99 per person and we would technically be only using it once to hop from AK to Epcot, so I ended up not purchasing it. I regret this decision later on...you'll see.

chill at the pool a bit before heading to AK for our 11:40am lunch. It was a good decision as we started our day feeling refreshed.

It was a beautiful day, there was not a cloud in the sky and it 70 degrees and no humidity.

The Rivers of Light package is actually 67 dollars per adult and includes any appetizer, entree and dessert plus non-alcoholic beverage. That was actually an even better deal because we wanted to try some of the pricier things on the menu and the package price was much less than what we would have paid for each item individually (although our TIW card would have saved us 20% but still the package price is cheaper overall).

I've heard this, too. Great value!

This was a foccacia bread with an olive oil and pomegranate molasses dipping sauce. That sauce was crazy good. It's like balsamic vinegar and oil but has a more interesting flavor. I wish they put more molasses in it as I liked it so much.

This looks amazing!

The fish of the day was a yellow-tailed red snapper. It was seriously amazing. I absolutely loved the presentation. I'm used to eating fish the Asian way which is usually served whole, with head and tail so I was really happy to see this at Disney World.

While totally not my speed, I'm glad they have things for everyone!

DH got the Grilled Head-On Prawns: Tomatoes, Roasted Fennel, Olives, Sea Urchin Butter Sauce.

This is more my style!

We also ordered some coffees, DH got a decaf and I got a regular and it came in separate French presses. These giraffe French presses are so cute! The coffee was very good. And they were both included with our dining package!

DH got the Lime Cheesecake - Almond-Sesame Tuile, Green Tea Sponge

We waited 45 minutes for a bus to Epcot!! In total it took us an hour to get from Tiffins to Epcot, which we did not expect.

This was the strange little car we created. Haha. I always create the girliest looking car so I know which one is mine during the ride.

I had never seen Stormalong Bay up close before...and it was super cool! One day I will stay at the Beach Club...

I got a special birthday menu!! My friend Betsy had conferred with David before our dinner and they surprised me. I my DIS friends!

Our waters and teas came with these awesome Mickey straws which we could keep. I think these are meant for kids but hey, we are all a bunch of kids at Disney, right?

The rolls are served with butter topped with sea salt and a bulb of roasted garlic - so soft and spreadable and delicious with the bread!

Oh my! I'm drooling....

It is also served with beef fat potatoes. These were delicious.

I'm never disappointed with Yachtsman.

I NEED to try this place! But I'd rather wait til I am without my loud boys or after they grow up and settle down a little.

We didn't order dessert, but I was surprised with this treat!! And they all sang happy birthday to me too. How sweet!

So that's why one of the title contenders of my trip report was to be "And Unexpected Fruitiness Trip"

It was about 6:40pm at that time, which we thought gave us about an hour until ROL started.

The early show was so crowded and the late show was much less. I think this would have solved everything if they just give people an option of show with the dinner package.

Ok so what is my verdict on Rivers of Light: It was a very pretty albeit slightly underwhelming show. I mean, it's quite visually stunning, and I did enjoy it, don't get me wrong, but there was nothing new or exciting about the show.

I've heard this quite a bit. We are definitely going to do it once but if it tuns out to be one and done, that's okay. The rumor is by around 2020, there will be a new show in its place, with characters.

Thank you! It was a challenge but it wasn't so bad afterall. The worse part was the waking up early and having to wait around...but after that it was over pretty quickly thank goodness. And running through Epcot was awesome!

Tiffins was amazing. I'm so glad to be eating there again in 2 weeks. I can take or leave Rivers of Light - it was pretty but I wasn't blown away by it. But definitely try Tiffin's one day! It's so good!

Should not be a big deal at all, there was plenty of desserts and they all kept being replenished contstantly. The only thing is maybe you won't have your pick of a table. The bench seats are kinda outside the immediate dessert party area anyways. I think I remember seeing people not part of the dessert party sitting on them. But having seats are nice and I wish Disney does this for dessert parties at DHS.

It's was nasty. I don't' know why they didn't just stick with the similar drink they had at Rebel Hangar. Think it was called Dagomah Swamp Juice - similar ingredients, just no milk and it was yummy, kinda like a midori sour.

My thoughts exactly!! I'm glad you said this because DH and I both think that Kylo is whiny and does not compare to Vader at all. The reason Vader is not meeting and greeting now is because, according to our SW tour guides, is that the characters all meet according to a specific movie time frame. The time frame for now happens to be The Force Awakens (hence the addition of BB-8) and why Vader does not do meet n greets. Sad.

It's really cool and visually stunning, but I have a soft spot for Symphony in the Stars. It was so perfectly timed to the music and the fireworks were so big and bright. It beat Wishes for me.
the new show has less fireworks, and the fireworks they do have, they are different on the left and right sides of the theater. I thought that was confusing to me (I think I like symmetry? LOL) But the projections and lasers were cool and I have come to accept that this is the new way for Disney shows now, I think maybe fireworks are getting too dangerous and expensive? Oh well Last time we were at Symphony in the Stars, they delayed letting us into the Pixar area for EMH after the show was over. They spent 30 minutes making sure there were no residual fireworks on top of the buildings.

Wow, oh wow!

The Star Wars Tour sounds amazing and I love the way you break out the cost. It really does make sense, especially with the special treatment, great seating, instant meets. I love, love, love the Star Wars fireworks and projection show. It's cool that the dessert offerings included a few savory items to cut all the sweetness. The Nutella ice cream sounds super interesting.
