Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Wow, and what's with the ticker????

We are going to Puerto Vallarta in just over 2 weeks. Did I forget to tell you guys? DH is turning 40. Instead of a big party, he wants to relax with just us. We are all very excited!

Silly question but how will you be able to tell? They recommend Omega 3 oil for kids here but I don't think in those quantities!
:
I know! Yes, they recommend that too. BUT there are a few new studies that our specialists have been apart of that show an increased amount of the Omega 3 will help with brain function. They used 1000 mg of fish oil in the study. The problem is that fish oil is in those huge horse pills. :headache: It's tough to find pills strong enough, yet small enough for a child... let alone most adults to intake.

We will try just about anything to help him focus.

Janet- DO you add any liquid to the crock?

Hey, all...

It's a balmy 2 degrees here (and that's F, not C, Jo!) and we're supposed to get some sort of lovely snow/freezing rain/sleet mixture tomorrow. I don't know if we should expect a snow day or not.

Had a great day skiing yesterday, but the car continually wouldn't start without a jump, so I had to go get a new battery today. :(

But, whilst I was doing that, D helped the boys finalize a poster project for school that is due on Friday, so we're ahead of the game there! :thumbsup2 Then, we went ahead and did karate tonight, in case we can't go tomorrow if the weather turns to crap.

I'm hoping to work all the days the rest of the week, but of course school closings will affect that. D still has nothing big coming on the work front, so I guess I have to be the one to get out of the house... ;)

*********************************************************
Kristel, please, please know that I am thinking of you both. :hug:

Hi Fockers tomorrow I go for a bone scan!!! I am rather concerned as I went for a Hip and knee Xray and then they ordered this !!! I just did some research tonight to confirm my suspicions !!! It may be Bone Cancer !!So please keep me in your prayers !!! I haven't mentioned my fears any where else as this is always my comfort zone and has been for years !!Judy has no clue either I can't see worrying her until and if I know for sure !!

Oh, Rosie. :hug: Good thoughts heading your way. :wizard:

*******************************************************
Yup. I guess to make up for the fact that there was no emergency system call last week, we got TWO calls this morning. And, it's snowing right down - and for now, it's still only 11, so maybe it won't change over to the freezing rain/ice if it doesn't warm up. Fingers crossed!

On the one hand, since we had half of Friday off, too, I'm sad it's a snow day - it's been a LOOOONG weekend. On the other, since we had the never-ending playdate on Sat., skiing Sunday, stayed at the lake house, etc., it's kind of nice to have a good "nothing" kind of day. ;)

But, I really would like to get some sub days in, too! :rotfl: I'm now addicted to getting a paycheck. ;)

I'm sure I'll pop back on later - hope you all have a good Tuesday morning! :grouphug:

Oh Rosie! Please keep us posted! Sending you possitive vibes until you hear more. :hug:

CE- I feel you couped upness. It's been 10+ days without dh and I'm ready for a break! Why are your schools getting xcld?

I get the paycheck addiction. It feels great to earn your own $!

----------------
I'm sitting in the local coffee shop (Caribou). Tinks teacher didn't need me this AM, so I too the liberty to have some me time. :love:

Tink has a playdate today, then I have a PTA mtg. DH comes home Thurs night!

Two hour delay here. I hate 2 hour delay, all it does is screw up my system of getting everyone ready and out the door for the day.:headache: They are callinf for more snow for us Thursday NIght into Friday too. I n case I haven't mentioned it...I'm done...ready for spring:flower3:

then I have a PTA mtg.

Ours is tomorrow night.

DH comes home Thurs night!

:yay:

+++++++++++++++++++

Hey all. As I mentioned above schools were in a 2 hour delay this am due to the ice/freexing rain. My system got all screwed up and I got to work at 11:00am:headache:

This is the start of a fairly busy week.

I am supposed to go to a District Scout Meeting tonight, but my friend Joy (who is going to be the cubmaster next year) is supposed to drive so I have to get in touch with her to see if we are still going to go. They have them every month and we were just going to introduce ourselves to everyone for next year, so we can always go next month if she doesn't want to drive. I don't want to drive because I don't know where it is and at night with my eyes is not a good thing.

Tomorrow night is our Home & School Meeting, our 1st since November so I am sure that will be a crazy meeting.

Thursday night we are supposed to get more snow:headache:

Friday we are headed to the Phantoms Game (AHL Hockey/Flyers Farm team) with the Scouts.

I am off from Macy's until the week of January 30th, which is good because it gives me a chance to catch up on things at home, but like Jen and CE said...the money is nice.

Hope you are all having a great day.:upsidedow

CE- I feel you couped upness. It's been 10+ days without dh and I'm ready for a break! Why are your schools getting xcld?

Oh, we're supposed to get 5-10 inches of snow today, but it's supposed to switch to freezing rain or sleet later, then more snow on top... Blech.

I'm sitting in the local coffee shop (Caribou). Tinks teacher didn't need me this AM, so I too the liberty to have some me time. :love:

Nice! :goodvibes

Since our forecast for crap goes through tomorrow morning, I'm betting on at least a delay tomorrow, too - but I'd rather a delay than a cancellation at this point. And then, yeah, I just turned on the local noon news and it looks like we're looking at something on Friday, too. :(

Sounds nice, have fun and hope the tablets work!

:rotfl2: so that's about -16 :eek: I think of hot in F but cold in C I'm weird :rotfl2:

I think I've heard of Jenbear but not the other!

I'm now addicted to getting a paycheck. ;)

It turned into a glorious day here, it rained really hard over night (so much so we could hear it overflowing the gutters and somehow broke our sensor light so it doesn't turn off?!?) but the sun came out and it was lovely. Golf was good for the first 9 and then I just couldn't hit a ball to save my life :headache: David's work isn't going very well and he's getting very stressed about it, so much so that I've volunteered to find a job but he says it hasn't come to that yet, phew :rotfl: I do need to keep winning cash though as it really helps. Definitely no vacation for us this year though :sad2:

Hmmm, it's probably not a good time to mention that it's been absoltuely gorgeous (excepting yesterdays' torrential rain) down here, huh? ;) This is weather I can love - 70s during the day and 50s at night! :cloud9:

Sorry northern Fockers. :hug:

Nothing new here. Started a new semester today, but it looks to be really enjoyable! My two courses are History of Western Architecture and Ancient Art. We went to Busch Gardens Sat. and had a great time; with the cooler weather, the big cats were especially alert. :thumbsup2 We're off to AK this Sat. with friends, so if you follow my Tweets, be prepared for my endless rants about how much better BG is, lol!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi Fockers tomorrow I go for a bone scan!!!
Thinking of you Rosie. :hug: Hopefully it's just precautionary and you won't need to worry about it further. :hug:
Kristel, I read back far enough to see what's going on at this point; I'm so sorry. :hug: Please know that you're in our thoughts. :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:
That's OK - so far, it's not been a bad winter. I may be singing a different story in March if it keeps up, though! ;)
I got them all on Saturday. Jim couldn't imagine who kept texting me:lmao: When I told him who and why he just shook his head and walked away:confused3
Hi there, Fockers! :goodvibes
Life has been so, so busy. Where shall I begin? Let's see... I'm finally working hard to get into shape. I've been (generally) following Biggest Loser, but mostly just eating healthily and moving every day. Who knew that being sore from exercising could be something I would actually enjoy? :lmao:
I also pulled Aiden out of school last week, so once again, I am truly am Homeschoolmama! :teacher: He was struggling with some bullying and really just heartbroken about the way people act. He had straight A's and loved his teacher, but he just needed to be in an environment where he felt safe. He's like a different kid now. :lovestruc The girls are still in school and doing really well, so they are staying in.
Last week we had to register Baylie for high school! :guilty: I'm really excited for her, but sad too. She'll be in all Pre-AP classes (other than Math) and will be trying out for her high school dance team in December.
Competition season starts next week, and I'm sooooo excited! The girls look really, really good. They've come so far this year. I think being an officer has really challenged her and she's really risen to the challenge. :cutie: Her goal is to be a line officer next year. Try-outs are in May, so we'll see... :dance3:
In two weeks, Mel's coming to visit! :yay: She's going to get to see the girls dance. We're going to have so much fun!
Thanks for all the Positive thoughts !!The scan went fine , not painful at all !!I should know in a few days what the results are !!!Will keep you posted !!
Hey all! Its' Wednesday:cool1: Last night was the District COuncil Scout Meeting. Let's just say there was ALOT of testosterone in that room :scared:.
Tonight is the Home and School Meeting, our first since November so I am sure it will be a "fun Filled" event :scared:
Have a great day all:goodvibes
V- Yea to the amazing temps!
Dawn- I'm sorry about the bullying. DId you work with your school? I have a bullying story that did a 180 yesterday. See below. Wow, I can't believe you have a highschooler! Amazing! I look forward to seeing the dance videos and pictures. So exciting to have Mel there too!
Rosie- Many good vibes coming your way. Keep us posted and know you can vent to us!
Janet- Or Cub Scout big meetings are NUTS! The boys are allowed to run wild. I have gone 2x and vowed if DS behaved that way... ever... It's be his LAST Cub Scout Meeting. :rolleyes1 I'm a mean momma!
We had our 1st PTA meeting since Nov. It was a ton of information. :thumbsup2
--------------------
I have the start of a cold. Yuck! I'm going to a scrapbook retreat this weekend, so I really need to beat this thing fast!
So, I think in the past I have shared with you that DS has had some bullying issues since 1st grade. The issue stems from a kid-{1 kid} who began being friends with his best friend and he apperantly has been felt the need to try to pull this friend away from ds.
Over the last 3 years this bully has developed some kind of need to tell everyone around him what to do, who to play with and how to play any and everything that there is. If you don't like how he plays, too bad. He encourages all of the kids to yell at you and push you out of the crowd. If DS askes to play {since most of his friends are in this group} the bully decides if the stars have alighned that day and he feels ds should play, if not he tells his "posee" to go tell ds that he can't. OR if he can play that his "character will be killed off" immediately. and on and on and on...
Last year his locker was by DS's and he would tell him that he was really slow for being so "smart" and he must really be stupid... dumb stuff like that!
Much like girl issues.
Maybe the poor kid has too many girl hormones? :rolleyes1
So we have been dealing with this on and off since 1st grade. It's even caused issues in our hood, as sadly this kid lives near...We've worked with the school social worker on teaching DS HOW to stand up for himself, spoken to teachers, reecess people... on and on... The school was well aware with DS issue... but apperantly NOT the Principal.:confused3
All heck broke loose on the playground. DS was NOT playing with this group of boys when it happened {as we have been directing him to STAY AWAY!}, but rather was sledding with a bunch of other friends.
The principal was on the palyground, witnesses what was going on, then started talking to the boys about how the were playing...
Reminder... DS was nowhere near!
After speaking to the boys, the boys ALL basiically ratted out that this ONE BOY was bullying everyone. He decides how, when, what and who plays AND no one else. The kids also told the Principal WHO in particular he did not let play.. .and who he was bullying. :) Karma...
I recieved a phone call to talk through what was happening. The Bully's parents too...
DS came home yesterday and said the bully came up to him at school and told him that he can play with him or any of his friends ANYTIME. DS didn't really know what to say... but thanks. He was a bit amazed that he was now going to be able to play with his friends.
The principal told me and ds that we need to stay on top of the issue with her. If at ANY time the "boy" begins bullying again, we need to tell her ASAP! If he should go down that road again... Her next step is that she will clear her calendar and follow him around for the whole day. Then everyone will know that he IS A BULLY and in TROUBLE! :)
Let's hope this works!
Luckily ours are really organized, at least once we break down into dens. The pre and post meeting time is crazy. Except with the wolves, who Jim has told (and their parents too) that if they even think about acting like the Bears and Webloes that they are not welcome back to the Wolf Den:thumbsup2
I just got a coy of our agenda for tongiht :faint:
I have the start of a cold.
Feel better!:goodvibes
THat's great and will keep my fingers crossed for you you.
We had a similar issue at Jimmy's school. Not with Jimmy, but his friends older brother (he is 5th grade). Anyway this kid was being bullied and picked on and the school wasn't really doing anything becasue "there was no proof". Basically it was T';s word against the bully and the bully had a couple "friends backing him up". Well the kids took it a step further (as is wont to happen) and posted stuff on facebook. The kid has been suspended:thumbsup2 In the meantime she started freaking on the principal about what was going on and he flipped out because his assistant principal and the counselor NEVER informed him what was going on. HE WAS P&%%ed!:mad: I dont think that will be happening again!
I'm finally working hard to get into shape.
Nice!
Good luck. I go to one general meeting or two a year - but mostly just do my own thing on Book Fair and go from there. ;) And, frankly, ours aren't bad at all.
Let's hope this works!
:thumbsup2
*******************************************************
We had a two hour delay this morning. It was raining earlier, but now it is snowing again (though the outside temp is around 36?) and I don't know what the heck is going on. That was not supposed to be happening. :mad: :rotfl:
No sub call, which stinks, but with the lack of sub coordinator, I'm not SO surprised. I am already on the books for a half-day in preschool Friday afternoon. :thumbsup2 I love preschool. :):thumbsup2 I e-mailed our school secretary this morning to say that I was ready and willing to go the next couple of days if she needed me, and she called right away with that.
I have a jewelry party to attend two houses down tonight, but the boys don't have anything, so that's good.
Janet- Poo to Bullies... and parents WHO don't teach their kids right from wrong!
CE- I love jewlery parties... what kind?
