Dawn- I'm sorry about the bullying. DId you work with your school? I have a bullying story that did a 180 yesterday. See below. Wow, I can't believe you have a highschooler! Amazing! I look forward to seeing the dance videos and pictures. So exciting to have Mel there too!

Janet- Or Cub Scout big meetings are NUTS! The boys are allowed to run wild. I have gone 2x and vowed if DS behaved that way... ever... It's be his LAST Cub Scout Meeting.

We had our 1st PTA meeting since Nov. It was a ton of information.

I have the start of a cold. Yuck! I'm going to a scrapbook retreat this weekend, so I really need to beat this thing fast!
So, I think in the past I have shared with you that DS has had some bullying issues since 1st grade. The issue stems from a kid-{1 kid} who began being friends with his best friend and he apperantly has been felt the need to try to pull this friend away from ds.
Over the last 3 years this bully has developed some kind of need to tell everyone around him what to do, who to play with and how to play any and everything that there is. If you don't like how he plays, too bad. He encourages all of the kids to yell at you and push you out of the crowd. If DS askes to play {since most of his friends are in this group} the bully decides if the stars have alighned that day and he feels ds should play, if not he tells his "posee" to go tell ds that he can't. OR if he can play that his "character will be killed off" immediately. and on and on and on...
Last year his locker was by DS's and he would tell him that he was really slow for being so "smart" and he must really be stupid... dumb stuff like that!
Much like girl issues.
Maybe the poor kid has too many girl hormones?
So we have been dealing with this on and off since 1st grade. It's even caused issues in our hood, as sadly this kid lives near...We've worked with the school social worker on teaching DS HOW to stand up for himself, spoken to teachers, reecess people... on and on... The school was well aware with DS issue... but apperantly NOT the Principal.
All heck broke loose on the playground. DS was NOT playing with this group of boys when it happened {as we have been directing him to STAY AWAY!}, but rather was sledding with a bunch of other friends.
The principal was on the palyground, witnesses what was going on, then started talking to the boys about how the were playing...
Reminder... DS was nowhere near!
After speaking to the boys, the boys ALL basiically ratted out that this ONE BOY was bullying everyone. He decides how, when, what and who plays AND no one else. The kids also told the Principal WHO in particular he did not let play.. .and who he was bullying.
Karma...
I recieved a phone call to talk through what was happening. The Bully's parents too...
DS came home yesterday and said the bully came up to him at school and told him that he can play with him or any of his friends ANYTIME. DS didn't really know what to say... but thanks. He was a bit amazed that he was now going to be able to play with his friends.
The principal told me and ds that we need to stay on top of the issue with her. If at ANY time the "boy" begins bullying again, we need to tell her ASAP! If he should go down that road again... Her next step is that she will clear her calendar and follow him around for the whole day. Then everyone will know that he IS A BULLY and in TROUBLE!
Let's hope this works!
It's tough to find pills strong enough, yet small enough for a child... let alone most adults to intake. 
I'm now addicted to getting a paycheck.

J/K talked to dad and he said the weathers been great!
He was struggling with some bullying and really just heartbroken about the way people act. He had straight A's and loved his teacher, but he just needed to be in an environment where he felt safe. He's like a different kid now. 
The girls are still in school and doing really well, so they are staying in. 
I'm really excited for her, but sad too. She'll be in all Pre-AP classes (other than Math) and will be trying out for her high school dance team in December. 
Her goal is to be a line officer next year. Try-outs are in May, so we'll see... 
Last night was the District COuncil Scout Meeting. Let's just say there was ALOT of testosterone in that room 
. 
I dont think that will be happening again!
