Thanks, I'll do that. I'm sure there are people who are definitely more in need of assistance than we are, but I'm just trying to be as prepared as possible. We're really hoping for the best, but if it's too difficult for her to spend time in the sun, being able to stand in a shady line for a ride or two may make a big difference. I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!
I don't think people need more assistance that you, just different assistance. I understand that they make the GAC for what each person needs. It is an individualized thing. Why shouldn't your sister have something so that she can enjoy the park, too. You guys are paying for it. I had read some on the disAbilities thread because of my skin allergies, and the moderator (Sue M) pointed me in the right direction. They should be able to help you, too. Don't feel bad about asking for whatever your sister needs to be able to enjoy her vacation. I understand that the parks are EXTREMELY good at helping provide whatever assistance you need! I wish I had been able to say more of this earlier, but I was on my iPod, and it takes a lot to type more. I hope that you can find whatever you need to help your sister enjoy some of the parks as much as anyone else. One tip that I have to get her to some other parks is to use a taxi if you don't have a car with you. It will save you from potentially having to stand in the sun for the bus. The bus stop is covered at YC, and I think that there is some covering at the parks but not much. If she could stand in the shade at the parks while one of your party flags down a taxi, it might be more comfortable for her.
