@Teamubr It's a gorgeous old mansion, would love it and the grounds as my house!! However, it was an awesome venue and we wanted something like that decorated for christmas!
@snowmedic Thank you so much! One day we will catch up.
@bama_ed We were at the fort July 2019, and will be back June/July 2020. John & Lisa and the minpins will be there I think the first two weeks of February. We would love to join, but that work thing and the bills said get back to the office. Next planned trip is this summer to the shore at Masseys Landing in DE. I expect will will get some camping in at Luray and Hershey too as we planned that.
@mickeyfan0805 Thank you so much!
Been back to work this week and what a looooooong week it's been. Though our friends know how to throw some magic our way. After losing our rescue puppy back in August in surgery, friends of ours knew if a litter of puppies, born on our wedding day. We had already told the girls we would get a puppy after the wedding and things calmed down. We agreed to adopt the puppy and now getting updates as she is ready to go home. It is a another Min-Pin but I think bug will like having a buddy around. She loves visiting her pin friends at John and Lisa's. We named the puppy Ellie (yep, from Up) which one out just a slight bit more the Belle. It will be another 6-8 weeks I think before they wean and we pick her up. The girls of course are already making preparations for the puppies arrival.
We don't know how to sit still thats for sure!
I knew this day would likely come this year. Now I have lots of decisions to make...
... nobody died and I don't get to retire.
But...
I have the option of adding 13 more days at WDW (in addition to the 8 for the DIS Meet).
DW has several conferences she works each year. Each conference rotates the location annually. Last year they were in Denver, Indy and New Orleans. I usually tag along to help setup/tear down and sit in the booth to break up the monotony. I'm a nurse in the same hospital system that DW recruits nurses for, so I can play the part pretty well when people come up and ask questions.
Well, we knew all the conferences are happening in Orlando this year. DW just found out today that she is booked to go to 2 of the 3. (the third may follow later). The first conference is in April at Sapphire Falls (Universal Park Hotel). The exhibit hall is only open Saturday afternoon/Sunday until 4pm, but DW will probably get to take Monday/Tuesday off since she is working the weekend. We would fly down early Saturday morning, setup and work the conference until 5:30pm. Plenty of time to hit a park that night.
The second conference is at Coronado Springs, October 3-4. That's right, a week before we come in for the DIS Meet. DW thinks she may be able to work "remotely" the week between the conference and our current check in day (Oct 10) for the DIS Meet. I have plenty of vacation time, but I have never taken more than 2 weeks off. (and the 2 weeks has only been once in 20+ years).
I have already emailed to see if I can add to my DIS Meet reservation. If not, I may just stay at Coronado Springs for that week.
Looks like we may be renewing our annual passes in April. We could do Universal in April and just get 10 day tickets for Disney in October, but I don't have much interest in doing Universal and I would be really bummed if I was that close to Disney in April and didn't go.
We'll have to see what days DW can take off and work remotely, then decide if we want to check out Universal in April (a 4 day US ticket and a 10 day Disney hopper is still $200 less than a Disney AP) and not have the option to go into a WDW park everyday we would be there in October.
I'll let you know what we decide.

I often tell a good long story for a short point... but it was a good story at least!Got out of work early yesterday to head out for dinner at our area casino, about two hrs. away. The buffet was good as usual, didn’t play blackjack ( I am somewhat good at it, I can leave with more money than I came with ) because I have a bad sinus headache going on and wouldn’t be able to concentrate on the cards.
Now I will get into how smart our police and fire dept. are. When you cross into the very northwest part of VT, from NY you are on a peninsula, to get to our house from there you are limited to two options, the quick way, which I like to take, that is only about 12 min. or the scenic route, about 1 1/2 hrs.
We come in to Vt get up to our turn for the 12 min. drive home on a two lane road and all is well, almost, as we pass a certain point on our drive ( this is about 9:45 p.m. ) I notice a tractor trailer on a road he shouldn’t be on and I’m thinking what is this guy doing and I keep watching in my mirror to see which direction he takes, but after a few seconds he’s out of sight. As I making my way home and coming up to a blind curve in the road, I notice the flashing lights of a fire truck on the trees. Know I now why that truck was on a road he wasn’t suppose to be on. We role up to the fire truck and was told there is a tractor trailer on its side and it going to be 4-6 hrs. to clean up, you need to take the islands way around, the 1 1/2 hr. drive, I’m only 5 minutes from home. So with a heavy sigh we turned around, and I got to thinking, ( dangerous I know ) I told DW to get her id out and she’s like why, and I said it should only be about a 20 min. drive if we go through Canada. So that’s what we did, we had a nice dark scenic drive through Canada last night. After talking with boarder patrol twice, and not knowing where we were going it was a 30 minute drive.
Getting back to the police and fire dept. they will let you travel down that 2 lane road and get to the accident scene before turning you around, instead of putting up a sign, which they have, stating Route 2 closed and having a person there to direct traffic in the needed direction.
Nice long post just to say we took a drive through Canada coming home from dinner last night. Sorry
It’s mine now... I almost want to pull out the trailer just to see what my improved towing experience will be like! (ALMOST... but not enough to deal with piles of cloves going everywhere )View attachment 464280View attachment 464281
Nice looking truck. Did you buy it local or did you find a better deal somewhere and put it in the plane and come home with it?
