Finally, a normal awards show and Red Carpet. Hopefully with nobody slapping someone else. :duck:

The Emmys are on Monday this year as, when NBC hosts the awards show, they make sure it doesn't compete with their NBC Sunday Night Football. 🏈

:welcome: EVERYONE is invited!

This is a NO SPELLING POLICE THREAD!

The Spelling Police will be off duty and possibly slurring their own typing by the end of the evening. Typos & illegibility allowed! :woohoo: :drinking: :drinking1 And if your posts are still making sense by hour 3, you aren't sloshed enough.
Or, we are as toasted as you are!

:lmao:

Let's have another fun evening! party: :jumping1: :rainbow: :welcome:

A little heads up for newbies: The Red Carpet segment goes really quickly on this thread. People are typing like crazy all at the same time, posting about the different dresses.

If you post something or ask a question and it seems to get ignored, :( you are NOT being ignored. Everyone is just watching, typing & posting so quickly before the dress goes off the screen. We do most of the reading, scrolling back & posting back to each others' comments during the COMMERCIALS! :surfweb: Your posts will get a response then. :hyper2:

Once the show starts, it slows down to a more comfortable pace. Just hang in with us! It's going to be a great evening. :hyper2: :lmao:  :sad2: :thumbsup2

I’m here, but in and out. It being on a school/work day doesn’t work well for the west coast!

Hopefully I’m home for the actual awards show, even though the arrivals is my favorite part

It doesn't work well for east coasters on the tail end. Many people need to put kids to bed, or simply have to get up early in the mornings, and are flagging at the end of the show.

I really like some of the festive embellishments on some of the dresses. After being cooped up for a couple years and then only able to wear their dresses at home, being Zoomed in for the award shows, I like how people are really appreciating being out and about and getting to be playful while celebrating.

I’m sure there are more to come, but here are my two favorite and two big misses so far.

Kerry Washington, who almost always gets it right is a miss for me. But her guest, who’s name I missed, looks stunning. And I’m excited for the new show they’re promoting.

I like this one. It's Jung Ho-yeon from Squid Game.

I think it's interesting that the "plaid" effect isn't woven in with different colored threads, but that it seems to be a beaded pattern.
