When we have visitors over we're usually in the basement with a buffet set up on the pool table, so we break out the paper plates and plastic cutlery. Probably I'd say this is when we put out the nibbles, like chunks of pepperoni and cheese, olives, chips and various dips etc. We have a three insert crockpot down there for keeping hot dogs, sauerkraut, and brats warm, so there's that.

I've never had visitors so I have no idea yet.

Depends on who, why, and how long. Some people and situations get to use my Mom's china, crystal, and silver that I inherited. Some people get paper plates and told to get off their butts and get what they want themselves.
