New Twilight Zone Drop Sequence - Rumor - (4/12/02) We’ve heard a little more about the possible new drop sequence rumor. A reader tells us that the ride will take you on one of three possible new drop programs and as our last item claimed... there may be some new special effects put to use in the Tower this time around. We don’t know what they all are, but one source claims that a test effect was ‘left on’ briefly one day, leading a few people to think that the building was on fire. A smoke effect perhaps? Excellent!

I love the "Jumper's Seat"!! I was at WDW in January and rode it 6 times in a row (3 in a row in the back seat) while my wife took my son back to the hotel for a nap. It's a completely different experience!

last time i checked in at the tower i saw what looked to be ghostly figures near the bottom of the drop. they were not in operation, just barely seen because of spill light. i do not know if they are part of any upcoming improvements, but i thought it was curious that these figures were there for any reason. they are similar to the characters that disappear and the ones behind the glass in the hallway where the elevator car moves through. also during my last visit the elevator broke down and we were stick for about 10 minutes before maintenance could release our car from in front of the movie screen at the bottom of the shaft. we were escorted out of the shop area with full light so that i could see where the cars move back from the drop shaft into the elevator shafts back to the loading area. the track for the cars to follow is under the concret floor. this same shop area can be seen through the cage siding of the car if you are looking out, but with the lights turned off you don't realize the car is in this area. exit lights can be seen. after we unloaded they asked if we'd like to go again, so we did and were taken by passenger elevator back to the loading area and immediately put onto another car.

OK - I guess I'm not crazy - I thought I saw some figures too when I was there in January! (I guess it wasn't just riding it multiple times that caused brain damage!).

Did you think that one of them sort of looked like a witch?

There are props from the Twilight Zone series in that area of the ride, maybe that is what u saw? I would say that between 35-50 of my trips to the twilight zone were in the "jump seat" as you put it. BTW it is always the last number 5 on the floor and is often left empty so feel free to request it.
