trail's end ??

I have seen so many posts on here about TRAIL'S END AND THE FOOD THERE.
But what is it and where is it?
It sounds like somewhere to go on those slow afternoons.

it is over at fort wilderness very near pioneer hall. it is a "buffeteria." the food is very down home and good. it is worth a trip to FW. we have eaten breakfast and dinner there and would return. happy eating!

What is the easiest way to get there? I noticed the parking lot is very far from the restaurant. Do busses pick you up from the parking lot, or is it quicker to take the ferry over from MK or Contemporary?

We have taken the boat over from MK and it was a beautiful ride. A nice break from the buses.

Trails End is a great place and a wonderful departure from the hustle bustle of "the world". It is easy accessed by taking the boat launch from MK. The restuarant is a short walk from the dock. A great value for Breakfast,Lunch or dinner!

You can also take the small launch from the Contemporary. If you have little ones you can visit the petting zoo and stables right behind Pioneer Hall, too.

Trail's End is excellent. You can take a boat from MK or the resort boat from CR or WL. It is nice to have an early dinner and then head over to MK for firworks, or late dinner and then watch the fireworks from the beach at Ft.W.

The dinner is great- same chicken & ribs as Hoop-de-Doo! They also serve an awesome breakfast - with Mickey's waffles and a huge donut bar.

Keep in mind, at certain times of night the boats & buses to Ft.W get crowded because of people going to Hoop-de-Doo.

Oh this is one of our favorites. We plan to go at least once if not twice in October. FW is a fantastic place to wander around and have a drink on the porch. Enjoy.

We are staying at AS Movies, but may wish to do the Trails End buffet, and then the campfire. Would we be best taking the boat from MK, or will we need to take a bus in order to get back after the campfire is over? We are not going till Sept, when I think there are shorter hours at MK. We have been to WDW a bunch of times, and have never been to the campfire. How do you get there after eating at Trails End? What is the time frame we are looking at? TIA!

We ate there twice in February and it was hands down our favorite buffet at Disney. The food was so terrific. The staff was just wonderful - we have three little kiddos and they helped us with them so we could eat! And the best part is it seems to be a little known secret because it was quiet when we were there. We stay at the FW cabins so we love that whole area! Enjoy!
