Transportation Via Boat

I am trying to figure out how the best way to get to MK from the fort will be. The park opens at 9 and we typically like to start heading there around 7:30am is that possible using the boats, or would we need to take the bus?

It's possible if you don't mind walking from the Contemporary. The big launch that goes straight to MK starts 1/2 hour before park opening, but the smaller resort launch starts running at 6:45 am. You could take that to the Contemporary and walk to MK. The walk is a pleasant 10ish minutes. (I miss the Fort!)

As FYI they (Disney) were testing a bus FROM MK back to FW earlier this year in the evening to help transportation needs for the Mickey BBQ and HDDR. I never heard if it was made permanent or not.

Also while there is no direct bus TO MK, you can bus from the FW Settlement stop (down near Trails End) to Wilderness Lodge, get off there, and then catch a WL bus to the MK.

But nothing beats the boat directly from FW to MK when the weather is nice.

PS - Marbel's advice is the way to go if you want to get there really early.

There was a bus labeled "Fort Wilderness" at the MK two mornings ago. We saw it as we walked to the MK from Contemporary after taking the early boat from FW to the Contemporary.

Kind of ironic really, but yes, there is a bus but it is not currently tracked.

One morning when we were at The Fort a year ago we were waiting for a bus to another park I did see a bus say Magic Kingdom at the Fort. It was puling out and didn't catch if it had anybody on board. Got me to wonder if say that bus had just came from Epcot to the Fort and was needed at MK (or was needed to go from The Fort to AK after MK) after if they would "add" a bus to MK as it was going there anyway? Not something that happens all the time but as needed if you know what I mean.

As an FYI there is no bus from The Fort to MK.

1) Actually, there is
. . . the bus is Outpost-FW > WL > MK
. . . during slow periods of the day, it is FW > WL > GF > MK
. . . of course, the return routes are the reverse
2) As for an early breakfast, the boats start to run at 6:30 and are at The Fort by about 6:45 for departures

Scupper,

per 2) both boats start to run at 6:30 ?????

FW-WL-CR, Polynesian, Grand Floridian: (GOLD FLAG)
If you want to go to the GF/Poly from the WL, CR or FW by boat, you will have to go to the MK
and then get the Gold flag MOTOR LAUNCH. In addition, there is no boat that goes directly from
the CR to the MK, GF or Poly. Additional boats may be added to the Gold, Green, Red and Blue
routes during periods of exceptionally high demand, like at heavy MK closings, to alleviate guest
lines at the docks. runs each from 30-min prior to MK opening until 1-1/2-hrs after MK closing.
.
Wheelchair and ECV "411":
Rental Boats:
The rental boats at various marinas include pontoons, individual watercraft, and sailboats. Only
the pontoons have ready access for chairs and ECV's without collapsing or man-handling.
Resort MOTOR LAUNCHES and CRUISERS:
For MOTOR LAUNCHES, strollers must be folded prior to boarding and ECVs cannot be accommodated
on MOTOR LAUNCHES under any circumstances.
MOTOR CRUISERS
MOTOR CRUISERS do accommodate ECV's unless the lake
water level is too low. Additionally, all MOTOR LAUNCHES require guests to step down into the boat.

NOTE: Just to be accurate, noses and marathoners run. Boats sail (even when under power).
