traveling on Hawaiian state holiday - is it crazy?

We are trying to narrow down dates for a late March 2023 trip and our ideal date has us flying in on March 27th, which a state holiday - Prince Kūhiō Day. (it's on the 26th, but observed as a state holiday on the 27th). Would we be crazy for trying to fly in that day? Will the resort be packed for day guests? Do they still allow day guests? Thanks for any insight you have!

You should be ok. Neighbor island travel will be affected but you shouldn’t see any difference if you’re flying in from the mainland.

Aulani is always busy on three day weekends, but everyone will be checking out on that Monday and the resort should calm down by about 4pm.

Kuhio day isn’t widely celebrated here. It’s mostly schools, state, and city workers who will have the day off. Restaurants, shops, banks, etc. will all be open with normal business hours.

Thanks so much for your help! I appreciate it!
