Universals version of Fast Pass really stinks!!

While I haven't used it yet (going in two weeks!), my understanding of how the resort perk works is that it is a all day, every ride (that has Express Pass) Express pass by showing your room key. In other words, you get in the Express Pass line, avoiding the machines, and when you get to the person controlling the line, show your room key instead of the Express Pass. Now, if someone can come up with an abbreviation for the above, we would be glad to use it. Otherwise we are using FOTL as a shortcut, knowing that it is not literally front of the line (i.e. you can't skip over the other people in the Express Pass line), but it is different from what the non-resort people get with their tickets.

I'm sure the Express Pass machines will be making there way on to guide maps soon.

Here is a great idea..we could have the Express pass machine in the bathrooms with a counter for buying food and t-shirts. A kind of one stop shopping so to speak. :jester:

I don't think everybody way trying to be mean...I for one am just pointing out that Disney has the same problems...remember its very hard to read tone from a email or posting on a message board...so don't try to do it.

at each ride at USF or IOA there is an attendent at the beginning of the entrance to the ride. If you have a room key for an on-site hotel, pull it out, show it to them, ask them which way you should go for the express line, if it is currently up and running. REMEMBER if the wait is less than 15 minutes some rides will not have Express available.

if it is your first time or you are unfamiliar with the process ask the ride attendent, that is why they are there. They will gladly point you to the express pass machines and the express line.

I do not believe the express concept was on the mind of the designers of the park. Where the express machines are located and sometimes where the express line is, is not always where we think they should be. So ask. Give an attendent a chance to help you better enjoy your time at the park.:smooth:

MIB is correct. None of the parks (Yep, this includes all 4 of the rat houses) were designed to efficiently include the pass machines. The layout of IOA presents a challenge. You would not want anything causing a traffic jam on your way to lunch or whatever. They had to be installed away from the flow so as to not diminish the total experience of your day. The machine is there to help the wait time- if it caused a jam in the street we have just given you yet another wait while you are trying to get to your destination. It may seem like they are out of the way a little bit to some, but at least they are there for your use and don't cause you any pain when you exit the ride and are REALLY looking for that restroom.

Hope that serves to relieve some of the stress and strain. Now on to bigger and better things. Who's coming to Mardi Gras?

Just got back from the Hard Rock Hotel. The priviledges worked just as described in the above post. Works great. For most attractions, I think that the express system works well also. We did notice a few cases in which it didn't work perfect but nothing major. The dueling dragons express re-entry can be accessed by anyone which might add to this line. Also, we waited 45 minutes with our room key at BTTF because they had the opposite problem as described for Posideon. They only had one simulator running for the express line and seemed to forget to process us sometimes. The posted standby time was 15 minutes and I think that was about what rate that line was moving at. We would have been much better off!.

All in All I think both fastpass at Disney and Unversial Express are great additions and make a day at the park more enjoyable.

would that be the boobs for beads policy

I think Barry said that (in the Mardis Gras thread) "anyone flashing their breasts for beads will be escorted from the park" or something along those lines...

I thought Universal was COOL! How the heck am I supposed to get myself some beads then???

I moved to Florida for FUN, darnit!

Hey, how good am I at helping to change a negative thread to a positive one???:D

I suppose MsDisney will flash her boobs at the Mardi Gras parade. She can show the float riders her son and husband. Now there's a pair of big boobs! :)

Now there's a pair of big boobs!

Now I'm sure this will come back to haunt me in some way...but I actually have THREE boobs. Maybe I can setup a tent off to the side and charge a dollar to "COME AND SEE THE WOMAN WITH THREE BOOBS" (that's MrDisney and 2 appendages)

Boy tho...you hit the nail on the head with MrDisney...and unfortunately, I recently had to order him the bro! Now, would he also be escorted from the park for flashing his impressive (and quite hairy) rack???

Ok...it's WAY too early in the day for this talk!!! LOL I can't even claim I'm inebriated - it's still 6 1/2 hours until happy hour at the Alchemy!!!

There's an idea for a booby prize: shave MrDisney's chest! We will save that booby prize for when Molokai Gram visits. :)
