Using [CODE] [/CODE] on the new boards.

Looks like [ code ] now ignores any embedded BBCode tags within the text (which by rights it should do to be honest, if it's meant to be displaying monospaced code). So it looks like the new software is working correctly, but people have been used to using a quirk which used to allow text-formatting within a code block.

@andrewilley So what you're saying is basically it can't be done like that anymore?

Code:
 Code still works but I cannot use headers?

Oh, great POR website... lots of great info on there!

@that's nice Tim, I am scrounging around for this for other formatting issues, too. Fpr example, hyperlinks...you used to be able to insert a hyperlink like, for a trip report for example, and then just use the Text as the shortcut.

But would show as a hyperlink...
Controlled Chaos and the Quest for Bottomless Dole Whips - LIVE! Semi-live? Over ?

I have been trying to get the scoop on that.

The BBcode method for hyperlinks is exactly the same as old the old boards, and both options are available.

If you just paste in the link as you see at the top of your browser window, then you'll see that raw link within your post. Thus:
http://www.disboards.com/threads/using-code-code-on-the-new-boards.3376618/

However if you use the new popup box which appears when you click on the # message number in the lower-right of each post (e.g. this post will be shown as #10) then the popup will generate a version of the link with human-readable text instead, which you can just paste that into your new message. Thus:
Using CODE-CODE on the new boards.

The exact format of a link, should you want to type/edit one manually, is:
Code:
[URL="the raw http://xxx.com online link goes here"]Your human-readable description text goes here[/URL]

Incidentally, and getting back on topic, you'll see that in the example above I used the 'CODE' tag as it was originally designed to be used - so the BBcode tags that I typed are displayed verbatim on the screen, rather than being translated into clickable links or other formatting features.
