What are your Covid keepers?

Personally....

Hand washing.... I already was pretty rabid about....I often work/teach in a laboratory environment, and the joke is you can always tell a biologist in the bathroom because they wash their hands BEFORE using the toilet. But def. the awareness and appreciation has increased for my day to day casual activities, I will also keep the pump bottle of sanitizer in the car door pocket.

Mask use will also stay in my future life. I will prolly feel comfortable about wearing them myself in certain situations in the future, no more 'OMG' novelty after Covid LOL. So I can see wearing them out and about when I am feeling sick. I will wear them on airplanes, and I will keep some in my teaching bag for when my students show up to class spewing their filth and plague germs of whatever variety...

I already taught online classes pre-covid, but i can see that being even more common esp. in college where I teach.

I was not a hand shaker fan ...hope that stays gone.

I work in a preschool, and what I want to stay is parents dropping off their children at the front door, and then the children being escorted to their rooms. No meltdowns,no parents hanging out with their children in their rooms,no "just one more huggie for Mommy or Daddy",etc. The drama has stopped at the door, and the children are much independent. It's been great.

curb side pickup of both groceries and other items. It helps me be more organized since I can put items in my virtual basket as I think of them. We have 2 Walmarts within less than a 4 mile radius, one is a neighborhood Walmart, and if one of them doesn’t have what I need, the other usually does.

not wearing makeup as my skin looks healthier. I don’t wear masks for long so I don’t have a rash or anything from the mask itself.

walking more. We have really upped our daily mileage as what else are we going to do. Blood pressure and weight are healthier.

spending time at the beach rose to the top of the vacation list. We have 4 beach stays since July under our belts. We find them both relaxing and safe to social distance. Helps that the safest is a 5-6 hour drive from home. We have found the ideal house owner. The house is constantly being updated and is pristine when we arrive.

Grocery shopping at 8am on Saturday. I always grocery shopped on Saturday, even pre-COVID and I am very much a morning person.

The shelves are stocked, there are no lines and it is super easy.

God I wish I could do that. Our Walmart doesn’t do it and the closest one is 40 miles which is quite the trek just to not have to grocery shop.
I'm embarrassed to say I'd think about, even at 40 miles out! :upsidedow

I have a small squirt bottle of hand sanitizer in the drink holder in my car, and we're in the habit now of "sanitizing" every time we leave a store. I'll keep doing that when the pandemic is done.

We're going to keep baking at home. Early on we were asked to minimize our trips to the stores, and we were able to cut back to once a week at the most if we made bread and other baked goods ourselves.

I am hoping more people will continue to stay home when sick (even if not COVID related) rather than “pushing through”. I am a baby when I’m sick, but often felt judged for not working or for canceling plans.

I can see me continuing to wear a mask in higher risk situations (on a plane during cold and flu season for example).

I am ready to get back to more socializing, but I definitely enjoyed my time at home and think I will work to keep my schedule less full of social things I don’t want to do.

I'm on the fence about the working from home thing. I really like not having to commute (even if it's only 11 minutes), and I like being able to take the dogs out at lunchtime and get the laundry done during the work day, but I do kinda miss going into the office and seeing people.

But having church board meetings via zoom? I am totally down with doing that.

I plan to keep doing curbside grocery pickup. I really dislike shopping in-person at Walmart, even without Covid. But, the prices are so low there that I can't justify doing our big weekly shopping anywhere else. We discovered curbside pick-up a few months ago and are loving it! For no extra cost, someone walks around the entire store and gathers all my groceries. Then they bag them, bring them outside and load them into my car. I will not set foot in that Walmart again if I can help it!

Things I hope that stay around
No handshakes
Frequent washing of hands
Staying home when not feeling well and not being made to feel guilty about it!
#1 Curbside pick-up (hope this is here to say long term, it makes life so much easier!)

I will forever keep cleaning products stocked in my pantry, ready to go for the next pandemic. Remember how hard it was to buy cleaning products? I had to mix my own bleach spray and it was terrible for my asthma. I think for the rest of my life I will have a bottle of Lysol concentrate in the pantry.

Hand sanitizer has been something we kept with us and used going back until at least 2002 before the first cruise we took our kids on. So that's nothing new.
Religious hand washing and masks may remain part of my routine. Not even having the sniffles let alone a cold in the past year has been refreshing. Plus my wife went a little crazy, and we each have 30 homemade masks, plus the Disney masks we bought, plus disposable masks. Wore my llama mask to the store this morning.

Basically what would you keep after Covid?

I would say everyone hand sanitizing regularly.

What will I keep? Nothing! I have always washed my hands or sanitizer, I have always "social distanced" with crowds; I have always stayed home if I felt sick so as not to spread it around; and IF I had a lung disease, I would have worn a mask to keep myself safe. No need for everyone around me to wear one.
That's the way it was before covid for most people, as always, there are those who didn't care, and still don't with covid restrictions. That will never change
Time to get back to living and let individuals take responsibility.

I like the idea of keeping hand sanitizer on hand for work, after shopping and social events.
I will wear mask during flu season, working in the classroom when there’s sick kids, super windy days( sets off my asthma , allergies and sinuses) or if I feel sick.
Having antibacterial wipes in my purse, car and lunch bag.

Stock up on Lysol cleaning spray. Bleach products sets off my asthma.

never run low on toilet paper 😂

save emergency money
