I am 70 years old. My mother‘s name was Thelma and her mother was Hazel. My Great grand-mother was Gertrude. Aunts were Esther and Lula. I always told my sister that we didn’t do too bad considering.

Ethel and Edna for sure. Abner, Jeb, Jed, Horace, and Ebinezer sound like old folks names. Claudette, Winnifred, Aloysius, Juniper, and Hortence just sound outdated.

As far as James and William listed above, I don’t think they ever went out of style. I know people named that from my parent‘s generation, mine, and the next 2 generations.
