What kind of cheese would you serve with pasta salad?

Invited to a potluck lunch and asked to bring a loaf of bread and cheese to compliment a pasta salad they are serving. I was thinking of bringing an olive oil bread. What kind of cheese would you serve with this? Thanks!

According to Google, "... Fresh cheese like fresh mozzarella, feta, and ricotta, for example, are all good options."

I don't thing you could go wrong with any of them

I would bring at least 3 varieties of cheese arranged on a platter. I've never had olive oil bread so I don't know what would pair well with that.

Well, I tend to use a sharp cheddar if I'm cutting it up IN a pasta salad,

but I really like the idea of a board with more than one kind!

My wife makes a pasta salad that she uses shredded cheddar cheese for. It goes pretty well in my opinion.

To put in the pasta salad? Fontinella or Fontina. For a cheese board? One of those just mentioned, a provolone and shaved parmesan would be good. I would also put some roasted red peppers and some olives for added flavors! :)

Thank you! Not to put in the pasta salad, just to have on the side with the bread. My other friend is bringing salad & dessert.

This is the bread I'm bringing-it is to die for!!!

This website mentions a blue cheese recipe, but I have an aversion to blue cheese, so that is out!

I was thinking maybe I should bring a soft cheese for people to spread on the bread. The feta dip recipe sounds really good. I was thinking a caprese salad, but my friend is bringing a salad already, so the caprese might make for too many different flavors?? I don't know-I'm usually not this fancy with get togethers lol ;) How about a Camembert-would that work?

So the main dish is a pasta salad? Weird.
What's "weird" about it? I think pasta salad, a loaf of bread, cheese, salad and dessert sound great for a summer meal. If it were me that was asked to bring bread and cheese I would bring a loaf of french bread, along with some kind of oil dipping sauce and a tray with 4 - 6 different cheeses, cut up.

Ah, forgot about the dipping sauce. I would add that as well.

Where I'm from, I've only seen pasta salad served as a side dish. Same for restaurants--I've never seen a pasta salad on the menu as anything but a side. So that's why I thought it was off to see it as a main dish.

Most pasta salads I've had have an oil and vinegar dressing and have pasta (carb) with chunks of cheese and other add-ins. Serving more carbs (bread) and cheese wouldn't have been the obvious addition to the meal in my book. I would have maybe paired a fruit salad and a hearty soup. That said, I would gladly bring whatever the host asked and not tell them my opinion!

I don't think it's weird either. She served this last year as well (but I wasn't in charge of the bread & cheese!) & it was a lovely pasta salad with chunks of veggies, very light tasting. We had some wine, bread, salad. Must be a regional thing-??

I do know of pasta salad sides, but those are usually the heavier mayo-based kinds

Hmm.....I like the idea of the dipping sauce, but I feel like the olive oil bread would be too much olive oil & I'm thinking a protein/cheese is needed.
