you worked for one employer ?

Longest is my current employer, this Aug will be 33 years

Shortest I was a paper boy for one day

Just finished my 10th year with current employer.

Lasted less than a week when I worked at a mini-mart (my choice to quit).

Worked for Dart Container designing thermoformed products and tooling for 12 1/2 years. If you're drinking coffee or pop from a foam cup I probably designed the lid. I worked for Irwin Auger Bit for 2 weeks as a college summer job until my previous summer job had an opening.

Shortest - 4 hours - I left in tears never to return.
Longest - 4 years - I also left in tears, never to return, but for very different reasons lol.

dont leave us hanging ???

I wasn't expecting employment when I first read the thread title. ;)

Shortest-one day at a department store during the Christmas season.

Longest-I've had two separate stints at my current employer, both slightly less than 10 years. There was an 8 year gap in between. Next week I'll reach my 10 year anniversary for Round 2.

Ha, the 4 hours was a "Sports Marketing" internship that I found through my college for credit. I showed up in business attire and was told that I needed to wear more revealing clothes and that it was my job to "entertain clients" that evening at a club - in other words, I'm pretty sure it was glamorized escort work.

The second was after working in an environment where I saw so many ethically questionable things that I could no longer put up with it. I stayed for the 4 years because the salary and benefits were incredible, but I went home every night ashamed of what I was doing and finally knew I couldn't do it anymore.

Longest: Current job, 5 years

Shortest: Wendy's, 2 weeks. They accused me of stealing from the register, and fired me. A week later they called back to apologize, because they caught the real person who was doing it. I told them to buzz off.

Ok I am I the 24 hour club, retail store

Now in year 32 with my job.

Shortest - 1 day at two different jobs.....collating paper in a factory, shoe salesperson :crazy2:

Longest - 24 years :)

I did a few one day stints for fill in work right after I graduated until I found my current job, which I've been at 7 years.

Shortest, 2 months, washing cars at Budget Rent A Car right out of college while looking for work in my field of study.
Longest, 16 years, followed by 12 years, followed by current job which is at 10 years now.
DW has me beat, 37 years currently.
Ah, the wonders of private employment. All our friends in the public sector retired after 30 years because they maxed out on their fixed pensions then, and get 60% of their last year's base pay as pension....(except those in law enforcement or fire service, their pension is 90% of last year's base pay after 30 years)

1 evening, at my high school friend's family diner

17.5 years at current job

2 months as a job in data entry
27 years at my last job in casino gaming. Retired last year
