When was the last time you visited the capital of your state?

Last Thanksgiving and the day after. All my family was out of town so I went to a casino buffet (lost $100 playing blackjack too) and then spent the night and the next day in the Sacramento area. I will say that their light rail system can have some "interesting" passengers.
Ah, the light rail in Sacramento. My husband and I decided it would be interesting to take the gold line from Folsom to the end at Sac Valley station. There was a possibility I would have to use it for jury duty as I didn't want to drive and park downtown. It took about an hour if I recall correctly. That was an eye opener and we both said never again.

I think it was in October-my husband and I try to visit every few months because we like to take our walks in the area. We live in the suburbs outside the capital, it's only about 30 minutes depending on traffic.

It was my goal to pass through every station in one day. I found a place I could park all day near a station (same block as Sacramento Natural Foods) and then took light rail most of the day. Not everything was all that clear. I was at the end of one line (at the Township 9 station) and wanted to take the same train in the reverse direction. The operator said I'd have to get out and then walk to the opposite platform. But at Cosumnes River College I walked out thinking I'd have to do the same, but the operator never moved it past the station and eventually I walked back and the train just reversed and crossed over.

It wasn't that bad, but there were a lot of assorted mentally ill and/or homeless. Since I was taking it all day, I ended up speaking to a lot of "Ambassadors" (i.e. fare inspectors). I mentioned my adventure and she asked if I'd seen anything "interesting". I did see an obviously mentally ill guy getting a citation for fare evasion. I pulled out my day pass and all was well.

We live about 40 minutes from our capital city and visit the actual building about once every year. My kids still enjoy it. We've visited the governor's mansion a couple times for Christmas, too.

The city or the building? I've never been to the building, I was in the city about 5 years ago to watch a hockey game.

October. We are there a few times a month during spring and fall travel soccer season. It’s about a 2 hour drive.
