Where have you been stuck?

My SIL was on Space Mountain in DL last summer when an earthquake struck. The whole place shook and they had to turn the lights on and walk down. Scary!!

Last year I was stuck on Mission Space for about 20 minutes. It was just after landing on Mars. I don't have fear of small places but I was beginning to get annoyed. I just wanted out. I didn't know the three other people and they wouldn't speak to me at all.

During our 2007 trip, DD and I were stuck on The Haunted Mansion and had to walk off, and then the next day, got stuck at the top of Everest and had to be walked down

Last October we were riding Test Track. During the inside part of the ride it stopped very suddenly, sat a few seconds and it started back up. Everything seemed fine and we were then on the outside track and going around the banked curve when the brakes slammed on. Even with the restraints my husband's knees hit the "dashboard". We were then stuck leaning sideways on the curve for about 15 minutes. Thankfully it was a nice sunny day and we enjoyed conversation with others in the car. When it started back up we very quickly hit 60+ mph and then just as we entered the building the brakes slammed on again. Sat a few minutes there. When we finally made it all the way back they said we could go again. We apprehensively did so and had a complete and smooth ride.

It feels like I've been stuck pretty much everywhere at some point or another haha. But a few years ago I got stuck on Space Mountain, that was interesting. We were escorted off in the middle of the ride and they turned all the lights on- it was so cool! Felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the SM track

Peter Pan (lights went on, which was cool), Pirates (also cool), Haunted Mansion (not wheelchair/evc stops; It was cool the first few times but now I just get frustrated since it happens so often), Small World (not cool), There was a serious delay ~8min waiting to be let off jungle cruise once, I actually liked it because we got a lot more jokes, and little mermaid once but only for a few minutes, (which I liked). Never walked off though, but I have a feeling a few times were very close to that.

I really don't mind stops that are 10 or so min. More than that becomes an issue. Small World was almost 20min.

We have gotten stuck on EE twice. Once on the climb outside the mountain which isn't fun if you don't like heights :faint: but awesome view of AK if only for a moment. Earlier the same day, on one of the first rides of the day on EE, we got stuck inside the mountain where you see the yeti protection. We were "hanging" there in complete darkness just listening to the howling wind. Not bad until the thought creeped in that we didn't want another train barreling backwards towards us.

Also got stuck on SW that trip. Thankfully the non-SW fans didn't come with us for the tourture :rotfl2:

Never personally, but I had a friend who told me that last year she went on Star Tours and the ride broke down. Told me it first it was fine, but suddenly people started smelling smoke which sent everyone into a panic screaming to be let out and such. There was no actual fire, so nobody was in any sort of danger, but it was a long couple of minutes for her. Can't imagine how scary it must have been.

I've had the usual of Haunted Mansion (in front of the pop up ghost in the graveyard), People Mover and also Spaceship Earth (while going backwards on the decline). Worst was Test Track. The car stopped just before you go outside for the fast lap. Despite the pre-recorded warnings that the ride may start suddenly, the 10 minute plus delayed anticipation of the fast jerk and then sudden acceleration into daylight for the lap was nasty. I haven't had the need to ride Test Track since.

We've gotten stuck on the People Mover in the SM tunnel. My favorite was getting stuck on Haunted Mansion right over the ballroom... I could have stayed stuck there for hours, so much to look at!
We also got stuck once on Carousel of Progress and had to repeat one of the scenes.

Tower of Terror. Right in the middle of the hallway leading to the drop. It was interesting seeing it all lit up. We were stuck about 30 - 45 minutes.

Seems I've been stuck on all the same rides as the rest of you (Splash, Small World, Pirates, Haunted Mansion etc).

Although I think the worst was probably Carousel of Progress. As much as I love it, there's only so many times you can hear 'There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow' before it starts to get on your nerves...

The thread about being stuck on Pirates got me wondering about other folks' experiences getting stuck on rides at WDW. Best/worst experiences of being stuck?

Most recently, we were stuck on the Peoplemover in the dark at the Space Mountain portion. It was only about 5 minutes, but it freaked my kids out!

Well it wasn't me and it was on Disney Cruise by my DS10 got stuck on the AquaDuck. Raft got stuck and he couldn't get it to budge not far after launch, so they had to close down the ride and get him off. CM asked him if he wanted to ride again and if so he would go right to top of the line and he responded YES.

Going back in time, but the coolest place I've been stuck was the "wind tunnel" (not sure what it's called) of If You Had Wings. Was stuck there for about 15 minutes when I was a kid.

We were on TSMM and it kept stopping, eventually it stopped all together and they had to walk everyone out, FP's for that day anywhere. It was cool getting to see the workings of the ride though.

Test Track - Stuck in the heat room.

Test Track - During the high speed run, our car rapidly decelerated and stopped on a bank. Two mechanics showed up.

Been stuck on Test Track a few times -- outside all times.....fortunately it wasn't raining. Were stuck on RoR once -- the lights went on as we were being pushed through the corkscrew.....once gravity took us through we came to a stop. Stuck a few times on Space Mt. and the lights came on....was neat but love having the illusion that you are on a much bigger ride. Been stuck on Splash Mt. a few times.....just always assumed it was more of a loading/unloading issue since none have been longer than about 5 minutes. The best was a few years back (with paper fast passes) -- got "stuck" on Toy Story mania literally right where you are shown the scores for your ride vehicle.....so basically all of our party was done with the ride....but were still given fast passes to return later.

The worst time we were stuck it was not on a ride. We were in WDW for Easter and the park was so packed you couldn't move at all on Main Street. They closed the park but you couldn't move. Security came out through the stores and escorted us through the stores and out the back door. They then drove us out in trucks. The park remained closed for hours. We haven't gone at Easter again!

Once on EE at the top of where you go backwards. Sat there about 20 minutes before being walked thru the attraction. They provided free bottled water and anytime fast passes. Once on Pirates but stuck in two spots. Just before the first drop, about 15 minutes CM's came and pushed us down the track and then again by the women chasing pirates but close enough to the braying donkey. We sat there for at least 30 minutes while they reset the entire ride. That way annoying to say the least. We were on the KTTK tour at that time, got nothing special for that one. Then at the end of IASW where they are saying goodbye. That was more annoying than the donkey. Sat there probably 45 minutes before we were able to exit.

Then there were the times where my bus broke down, but as I was the CM, it doesn't count. :)

Splash Mountain on the incline that leads to the drop. We weren't stuck on RnRC but did ride it in the dark with no music. A child freaked out just before takeoff and they had to stop the ride. Apparently it needs to be rebooted to make everything work again - we were brought to the front of the line to ride again this time with all the bells and whistles!!
