Where is your one non-Disney place that is magic to you?

Colonial Williamsburg

Oh man. Such an air of magic and peace.
It is a happy place for me, as well.
The trees, I could look and listen for quite the extended time.

Well, that's where my entire body lives (basically) and I must say I take it for granted. Give me @lisaviolet 's NYC skyline any day. :goodvibes

I had to go against my nature and have the patience of a saint to get that picture in NYC. But totally worth it in the end.

Have so many cities yet to see.

I laughed out loud about Banff and Niagara Falls. I too love the gaudy nature of some of the commercialism of Niagara Falls. But then again we do such a fabulous balance. On Thanksgiving I rode from.the falls to Niagara-on-the-Lake, so many beautiful serene stops, including paid tourist choices. Banff would he proud of those parts.

The North Shore of Lake Superior, Minnesota side. It is breathtakingly beautiful, rugged and uncrowded. The views are terrific. One area has a beautiful beach with orangish colored stones. There are big hills for skiing in the winter and to ride a gondola up to see the sights in the summer. We go once or twice a year and never get tired of it. There is also the awesome Split Rock Lighthouse, and so many other. beautiful unspoiled spots. We travel the coast from Duluth to the Canadian border.

Oh, I just started working crossword puzzles and I'm now hooked!

This is so hard to answer with just one favorite.

Hawaii, since we traveled there many times..17 so far, every island. Haven’t been since 2019 thanks Covid! Hoping 2023 after our Disney trip this year.

We loved the southern Caribbean, too.

I’ve been pretty fortunate over the years - reading through the responses, and I’ve spent time in the majority of them. I think it was pre-determined that I’d get to go to wonderful places during my lifetime - I was born at Lake Tahoe, and split time between Tahoe and Hawaii growing up, then worked as a Vendor Account Manager for years, traveling anywhere call centers were being set up in.

My absolute magical place is the island of Bali. The scenery, the arts, food, and people, all make it a truly unique destination. My first trip there I stayed in a $25/day private bungalow, overlooking the ocean. Outdoor shower, pool 40 paces away, monkeys sitting on the lounge chairs outside when they delivered the afternoon fruit tray. $10 daily massage in the massage hut at the pool. Best 10 days of my life!

Sadly, like Disney, it’s been changing. Many of the hotels and experiences are centered around travelers of means, and some of the magic is getting lost. I wish I were still single - I would have gone at the start of the pandemic and “worked from home” in one of the (inexpensive) hillside villas overlooking the water.
