Does anyone have any advice on the wine at Disney? I am an avid wine fan and was wondering what are the hot spots concerning wine at Disney?

Cal Grill has a wonderful selection. Many have raved about thier wines and the staff is very knowledgeable. They had a wonderful article about them in the wine spectator. Some restaurants offer the wine pairing with dinner. We did this at Yacht St a few years ago and it was great.

EC is a great place to try wine. Each country offers their own selections from their native lands. You will find the wine list in each of the fine dining restaurants for that country. We have had German, Canadian, French and Italian.

If you ever get the chance try to schedule a visit in late Oct thru the first part of Nov. The food and wine festival is fabulous!!!! They have various wine tastings, vineyards from all over the world visit and the special dinners have top chefs create a wonderful multi course meal with accompanying wine selections for each course is the best.
When you return let us know what you thought of the Disney wines.

Two suggestions for you (from our last trip)

Brown Derby: Fife "Redhead" Zinfandel - YUM good kick at the end. (This is a RED Zin for all you White Zin (yeeeeeuck) fans out there)

Jiko: "Guardian Peak" Shiraz-Cabernet blend... spicy. Yummy. CHEAP. (Like $6.50/glass)

We are by no means snobs (except when it comes to the pink wine - Friends don't let friends drink white zinfandel), but we do like to think we have a good appreciation of good wines.

For sure CG is probably the best place. Any wine they have on the menu can be purchased by the glass - we really like that, it gives us an opportunity to try more than one wine - not to mention you don't get "stuck" with a bottle you may not enjoy. You don't have to eat dinner there - there is limited space at the bar as well as a few other places to sit and enjoy the view and your wine.

A couple of other places also have nice selections of wine. The Yachtsman Steakhouse (YC/BC) has a nice wine list and the food & service are very good (this is our favorite place to eat at WDW). Spoodles (BW) has a pretty nice selection as well. Additionally, there is Martha's Vineyard (also at BC), it has a pretty nice atmosphere and a nice selection of wines. We really enjoy the Belle Vue Room (the Lobby Bar at the BWI), the atmosphere is really nice (you can sit inside or there are nice rocking chairs on the balcony - watch the folks on the BW) and they have some really nice wines by the glass.

Of course, the wines in Epcot at each country offer a chance to try some that you might otherwise not get a chance to. The best "wine time" at WDW is the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot. There are more wines offered, than usual, and it is really a nice time. Cheers!

I cannot wait to go. Sounds like there is alot of choices. Thanks for the help so far guys.

We ate one night at Jiko in 'off-season' October. The restaurant was quiet, we arrived early. We asked a few questions of our server, he brought over the sommelier, who brought over the manager.... One hour later we still had three people around our table and six wine glasses lined up in front of us with tastings of all sorts of interesting blends and varietals grown in South Africa.. Finally we ordered a bottle and dinner. Go. You will never see such an interesting selection of wine that you probably have never heard of before, and that you won't find in any wine shop at home.

Calif Grill ain't bad either.

And the Food and Wine Festival has stuff to die for, if you can just get a ticket.
