Which (if any?) attractions at DL/DCA have single rider

First time in the park since Genie… which rides have single rider lines? Or do any of them have it any more?

OOOH. It’s hidden in very small text when viewing the attraction in the app… sneaky.

I feel all out of whack with Genie existing now… only done two half days so far so haven’t paid for Genie yet, but I’ll have it tomorrow… hopefully the learning curve isn’t too bad.

I have seen groups of friends or families in the single rider lines before. I kinda feel this is not following the spirit of why this feature was created.

I get they will usually not be able to ride together but am I off base with my viewpoint?

Not at all off base… but I personally love when they get split up and suddenly seem really shocked and sad, especially if it’s a couple that wanted the on ride photo together.

Maybe a lot of people just can’t read?

What spirit does it not follow? The Disneyland website states that Single Rider allows groups to split up to fill single seats.

Single Rider isn't a benefit just for solo visitors. It (typically) benefits people willing to ride solo, but it doesn't mean they have to be at the park by themselves. The goal for Disney is to fill seats and maximize ride capacity and time.

I have to disagree. Isn’t it better that the seat be filled than not? My DH and I often do RSR single rider. Once in awhile we’re in the same car, but mostly not. But then we sometimes get the fun of racing against each other. We’re fully prepared to split up. So we’ve used a resource that otherwise would be wasted, and made the regular line a bit shorter too. Seems like a win-win.

No worries laugard. Sometimes I don't take that deep of a dive into the details or do the research before I respond to a post. It is more just my thought but always add the caveat this it just my opinion and and welcome others opinions.

Your response is something that I was looking for and appreciate your feedback. Gives me a different perspective next time I visit DL. Cheers

So very true. See my response to laugard.

Just a differing of opinions and that is a win-win in my book

The whole point of Single Rider is to fill seats that would otherwise go empty. It's not a queue meant for people that visit the parks by themselves. As long as groups do not ask to be seated together, then they are doing absolutely nothing wrong.

I see that others have the same opinion as me , this is off base. Why does it matter WHO is in the single ride, this is just gate keeping and judgmental and wrong. This feature was created to increase capacity and reduce wait times, thats all.

I have no problem with folks in the single rider line together that then get split into their respective seats, in a single manner (we do it often, particularly for RSR). I do agree with you that I find an odd joy when people in the single rider line try to insist they stay together and get split up (and are subsequently angry about it). I get that you can make a mistake and not realize you are in the single rider line, but there are clearly people who know what they are doing and try to convince the CM that they be sat together. Those people are obnoxious...and often hold up the line for others.

My only single rider beef is on Smuggler run - when groups of 2 (because you can do groups of 1 or 2 o single rider for Smugglers) expect to be pilot. No, if you want to be pilot go through standby. I tell my boys if we do single rider for the falcon they are going to be engineers. Sometimes we get lucky and someone in the group doesn’t want the pressure to be a pilot or they get swapped to be a gunner, but if you’re doing single rider assume you’ll be engineer. I’ve gotten really good at harpooning that train…

OP: there also is or was a “buddy pass” at Toy Story, that basically worked like single rider. I haven’t checked recently but maybe someone else can comment. Have fun!!

I’ve always been placed as gunner or engineer in both single and standby…they always give pilot to small children (this was east coast)

I do think you are off base on this one.
We’re fully prepared to split up.

I think these two posters and others who expressed similar views is why the OP is off base. As long as people in the single rider line understand that they will be split up and will not be able to ride together, there is nothing wrong with families using the single rider line.

I think the only issue is when a group gets in the SR line then claims ignorance when it is time to board and try to argue to be seated together. That is abuse of the system. Groups who know they will be split up are perfectly fine.

That said, I did see a guy in the SR line for WEB Slingers last week and he had a child who was clearly too young to ride alone. Now, the line wasn't very long, but the first CM who let's you in the door said nothing and let them continue through the pre-show (he was a few people up from me or I might have said something to him). When he got to loading, sure enough the CM questioned the age of the child - I am not sure how it was handled from there as he was escorted around the corner. I am not sure if this was a genuine mistake or an attempt to skip the longer line - there seemed to be a slight language barrier. The first CM should have caught it though - actually they should have been caught by the CMs at the front of the line.
