Whos going next?

Hi we're off next Saturday too, the 14th from Manchester.
Can't wait!! Had enough of this weather, although, in past years, when we fly out, the UK has record temps!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Roll on next Saturday!

Hi Tracy

Just curious really, It was pretty unusual to visit somewhere like the US for us 'normal folks' back in those days. How come you travelled there so regularly way back then?

There was a lad I went to school with in the late 70's (I am 38 now) he was similar age to me. His dad worked for a company and they had offices in California, they all went over for about 2 weeks, He was like a celebrity at school, there were 2 maybe 3 others who had been to Spain but that was it.

Cheers

Hi Steve,
We would never have gone out the the States, had it not been for family moving out there. My Uncle, originally from Thornton, Lancs, got a job with Goodyear Tyres and hence we started to visit! I was 4 on our first trip, and went to New York, which as you said was not the norm 'in those days'!!
There was another lad at junior school, who had been to South Africa, but his parents had a variety act, with lots of purple poodles!!! Don't see many of them today, either!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I love the States, not just Florida, but all over, and now my family do too! My DD has just passed her second year at Law school, and is already looking into ways of practicing over in America!

Purple poodles in South Africa!!!!!!!!!! come on, are you serious.

Mind you, even working abroad in the mid 60's was unusual I bet NY was fantastic then, I love the hitchcock movies from the late 50's and early 60's filmed there, it looks fantastic. We are trying for there for my 40th next year for a week.

By the way!

5 European Cups!!!!!!!!! Liverpool fan!

Listen, I remember NY before the twin towers were built......LOL!!!
We went to Niagara Falls (Honeymoon capital of the world) on that trip.... when you could put 10cents into a slot by the bed, and get the 'magic fingers' treatment!!! LOL :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Have you never thought of doing split site? Flights are virtually the same if you fly into NY and then do internal.
We are looking at taking our in laws Oct 2008. Have been pricing up for this Oct for a comparison. VA direct price over £600 (not sure what miles+money would be?), Flights with a stop around £400. But flights to NY from £299 + internal flight (just under £100)... definitley worth doing!!

Magic Fingers!

Come on you are turning this is a pornographic thread! (funny tho)

That bus clip on youtube is really cruel, surprised its not for sale on ebay. Serioulsy tho, I dont think we are good enogh to win the league for another couple of years. As long as Chelsea dont win it, I dont mind.
