Windows (possibly Gateway) question -- accessing My Backup files

DW's Gateway laptop froze up on her earlier. She restarted it and it froze on the blue screen that reads "welcome" right before Windows opens. After a few failed restarts and getting the same thing, I got the recovery disk and did a system recover with backup, where it loaded a new version of Windows and saved the old system settings -- including music files, screen saver, Firefox, basically the entire configuration.

Now I can't figure out how to reconfigure things to access all those files. I can go into My Computer and I found the folder that reads My Backup with today's date.

Has anyone had any experience with this and can help point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
