Hi, I just thought you might be interested in the following disscusion on dlp.info about Wishes at DLP.

Here some links to various videos of the show.

I am not sure what everyone here thinks of it, but IMHO I think it is a good show and would be the perfect end to a day at DLP! It is obviously not the same show as at WDW, but I think put in to perspective and with limited funds they have, it is a good show.

There was also a discussion over there about Wishes also being shown at Christmas.

Apparently someone there claims to have checked with the French Reservation people who have confirmed it will be part of the Christmas season line-up. The original logic was that the new catalogue - aimed at Winter - makes references to Wishes in a 'general' highlight of the Winter season - although not specifically on the Christmas page.

The thread for reference is:

'Wishes will be shown over CHristmas season' I wonder does this mean we might have them when we are there from Nov 26-Dec2? Would they be on every evening or only on weekends? Does anyone who was there early on is Christmas season last year have fireworks?

Well I see it is shorter than WDW's version - but still looks pretty impressive to me.

Would I be happy to complete my day with this at DLP? Most definitely.

I've contacted both the UK Reservations Dept, and Shareholders Club for take on whether Wishes will be playing at Christmas - once I've an update, I'll post it here....

Thanks Iain.:) I have been following those posts on DLP Guidebook Info, they certainly get a little heated! I have decided not to watch the video clips so that Wishes will be a complete surprise for us. I appreciate that Wishes at DLRP will not be as awesome as at WDW (I think it has been a big mistake to call it Wishes) but I am sure it will be a fantastic ending to our days at DLRP. I am definitely looking forward to seeing it but am being realistic at the same time.:)

I won't give any details, not to spoil your surprise... but we LOVED it. Expect something different, not a classic fireworks spectacular, something nice and very sweet :wizard: .

Sure - I remain suspect that Wishes will play at Christmas (season).

I've looked at the Winter Brochure, and I can see where the idea stems from, I just think that if this really was the case, more coverage would have been given it to it on the 'Christmas Season' outline.

Having said that, given that the Brochure is designed for 'Winter', and Wishes is only suppose to play during July/August, there is perhaps a question of why it's even mentioned.

I purely wanted to get some opinion from Disney themselves - I'm fully aware of how easy it is to appear on a board and post complete rubbish, and watch people take it onboard and start to believe.

The DLP.info board is not the best message board to refer to..........

But anyway, here are our pictures and a high quality video (multi-angled).

Raptor, I am not going to watch your video until after I return home, but I did take a quick peek at your fantastic pictures and it looks good to me. Perhaps I am easily pleased but I am sure I will love the show. It will make a lovely ending to our day.:wizard:

Thanks Elena, it was refreshing to hear a positive opinion of it!

I loved the sound & light show! The projections on the castle are awesome and so are the laser effects. The fireworks is well timed and incorperated in the story. :sunny:

The reaction from the UK Reserevation Department is:

Dear Mr Chapman

We thank you for your e-mail and interest regarding Disneyland Resort Paris.

We kindly inform you that at at the present time, there are no plans to show "Wishes" during the Winter period.

No word from the Shareholders Club - although I doubt that to say much different. The only positive is that it's no a flat NO - you'll notice they use the wording:

at the present time, there are no plans

Thanks Iain for the update.

I have to say Disney never seem to put anything negative in writing (that I've seen!) I really hope I am wrong but I suspect this may be Disney speak for "no" :(

Fingers crossed they show it at least in high season over Xmas though :)

I asked yesterday at City Hall if Wishes would be on during the Christmas season as we may be going back in November and they said no - unfortunately, it's only on in July and August. We didn't get to see it this week as it doesn't start until really late and our children are 4 and 2 and just can't stay up that late.

Because the Christmas arches will not be there this year, perhaps there will just be a new Christmas fireworks display.

Ian where did you hear that the Christmas arches will not be there this year?
