Would you do a Disney Cruise with no Kids?

We have done 17 Disney cruises and not one of them with children. To say that we love it would be a real understatement. Others have said it, Disney isn't just for children. On the ship and in the parks, it's easy to see that we move at warp speed compared to people with children. We are able to get a lot done when we want to. I'll say that the adult only areas on the ship are far from adult only, I'm often tempted to count the number of children that we see in the adult only areas, then I have a drink and another and then forget about counting children.

On my first DCL Cruise, I was 20, my sister was 22 and we went with my mom and grandma!

My next is January 2020. My husband and I are traveling with no kids!

After our first couple of cruises, I would've said absolutely. Now that the kids spend a lot more time in the kid's clubs and we have more time to ourselves, I'm not so sure. We find there isn't a lot of variety for adults.

I have cruised with my kids and have gone on 2 solo Disney cruises. Just because I go without MY kids, does not mean that I need a childless cruise. The kids on the ship are not bothering me just because they exist. I don't want to gamble, or drink myself silly, or even dance the night away with the other 40 somethings. I like the DCL because the ship is clean, the staff is amazing, the beds are crazy comfortable, the food is good, and I feel safe. There is something about the vibe on a Disney cruise that you don't get on other ships. You kind of feel like you are with your other Disney lovers and have something in common. There is plenty to interest me on a Disney cruise and I actually like the Disney movies in the evening on funnel vision. For me cruises are more about relaxing then doing a bunch of activities. We go to the parks for thrills.

To try it, yes. I've loved all things Disney since before having children, but it's an awful lot of money to pay when you can get more adult-centered activities on other lines. My husband and I really love Holland America. The average age of those cruisers seems to be somewhere close to death, but there are no screaming children at dinner. :)

Sixteen cruises in (14 with DCL) and all have been without kids. I'm admittedly a curmudgeon when it comes to children a lot of the times, but have had little issues over the years. I guess the one issue I have is the parents that think they are on vacation from their own kids and let them run amok. That said, it melts my grinch heart when I see some of the special interactions kids have with the characters and crew members (same can be said for WDW as well).

We stick to the adult areas mostly, enjoy the live music and shows, eat far too much, and when it ends...count the days until we can go again.

Personally no. When you pay dcl inflated pricing you are subsidizing the incredible kids clubs and if you are not going to use them, I would save the extra money and go on another line.

Wife and I are taking a second cruise this October without our DD.
We have been on other cruise lines, we are hooked on DCL's service.

YEP... we have cruised without the kids with Disney several times... You will not be the only big kids with out little kids...

Go on and get your inner kid on....!!!!

I booked deck 10 in the middle. Are the lower decks better as far as the motion goes? What’s the best place to have a room with a verandah on the Fantasy?

You'll feel more motion on deck 10 than on lower decks.

I'm like you on this.
If I'm cruising solo or with a partner I'd rather do it in a more adult-oriented ship. I'd focus more on going to bars, casino, gym and save a good chunk of $$. it's a no brainer for me.

284 days till my next trip on the Wonder. My DW and I go every other year or so.
We also cruise other lines and when I do, we get a suite and still save money.
We pay for the Dis experience. DW and I both LOVE doing Disney stuff.

My favorite thing to do on a dis cruise is to pixydust... you don't get that on any other lines... then I watch to see the gifts we leave being worn around the ship. There is an atmosphere you will not get on any other line and we have a blast w/ it. The wait staff in the dining rooms are fantastic.

Sure would! In our humble opinions, DCL can't be beat in quality. We are even looking at the more expensive itineraries like the Mediterranean and the British Isles to do without our kids or when our kids are adults and out of the house.
