in carry-on's it should be no problem, if your concerned, ask the TSA folks to hand screen it.
if you have it in your checked luggage, this could be a problem. depending on the airport, all bags are checked by x-ray or chemical sniffing machines as of Jan 1.
The stronger x-rays used for checked luggage can damage film. Just ask and they will hand screen it.
I've found the TSA (Transportation Safety Authority) people to be very good and suprisingly polite.
